We were pleasantly surprised with the friendliness of every single person we encountered. My family wanted a birthday celebration that was “new/unique” to us and found this event and it was perfect. Thank you and we can’t wait to do it again.
It was clean. Nice. Lots of people but not too many people. Parking was a stones throw and it didn’t take forever to get in or out. Great Hockey. Great Experience.
The new rink is incredible. The atmosphere there is going to rival the big hockey schools once the program gets its bearings…which it will. ASU will no doubt be a top 10 NCAA hockey program over the coming years with this new facility as it’s centerpiece.
ASU plays in a glorified high school rink… General admission means you’re standing for the entire game. Wait for the new rink next year if you don’t want to waste your money.
Family friendly exciting. This is the sport and team for the valley!
I enjoyed myself although the Sun Devils lost by a lot. It also helped that the game was down the street from my house!
What an amazing and fun family night. We got there early for warmups and Sparky was there! ASU Sun Devil Hockey is a class act. it is worth a visit to check them out exciting and fast action. Take your family, friends and co workers!
The game was great and we thoroughly enjoyed attending our first college hockey game. The only issue we experienced was not enough vending options within the arena.
Game was great...and the ASU's team played hard, but came up a little short, but I confident they learned from the experience of playing a national power team like Michigan. The concession stands were terrible...lines were 15-20 deep and only one or two servers/cashiers working...lots of revenue lost because of really bad management decision to have less than a skeleton concession service provided..
Not the most well played game but we enjoyed being there. The small crowd was disappointing.
Good game for about 15 minutes - then Harvard took over. Didn't help that ASU gave up 2 goals while on the power play!
Bought tickets and a valet parking pass online -I was told when I arrived that the event had no valet parking and was directed to a general lot where I had to pay $15.00 for general parking. I don't know if I can get a refund on the pre paid parking pass but I will think twice before purchasing tickets in this manner again.
College sports are always entertaining. The seats were good. The music was a bit loud
Great Seats and great venue. Sportsmanship and urgency are everything. I am a long time major and minor league hockey fan. I know fighting is a part of the game, I get it. But at the collegiate level, when your team is so far outclassed (I understand this is ASU's first year in Division 1 NCAA) sucker punching your opponent when he is down on the ice is low life and uncalled for. Such an action reflects negatively on the school, the team and the sport. For the moment, I lost my taste for ASU hockey.
Games were awesome. Marketing of the Tournament and games were embarrassing! ASU, Coyotes and Glendale continue to disappoint the Hockey faithful who are here in Arizona. The Stadium could of easily been full for both days of competition. SAD effort
I saw some great college hockey. It was a very enjoyable event to attend.
Awesome to see a college hockey tournament here in the Valley, level of competition was excellent. How Gila River Arena handled the games, especially on Sunday, was awful at best. On Sunday they had very limited options for seating aside from your ticketed seat as well as food and beverages, and did not have the Terrace Bar open as an option between games. After being handed a thermal printed ticket when my phone was scanned for initial entry, and being told that it was for reentry, when we attempted to go out and get something more substantial than pretzel bites and nachos, we were told that leaving the arena meant we would have to purchase new tickets to see the second game. I'm not a college kid anymore. If I am spending six hours at a hockey tournament, I want to be able to eat something that isn't an $8 hot dog and wash it down with something that is not 20 ounces of flat, warm, $11 beer. It would also be nice to have a chance to take in some other sporting events that are going on that day since there was an hour of down time between the two games. I get that the venue doesn't want me leaving, they want my money, it's the same reason you can't bring your own food or beverage in, but locking me in a building with gas station cuisine and poorly managed beer is pretty insulting and then to tell me I can't go give money to someone who will at least try to earn it is reprehensible.
The arena is fantastic and the game was even better!
Great hockey experience! The Sun Devils are going to be so much fun to watch this season! go devils!
