About

Getting away with murder can be so much fun… and there’s no better proof than the knock-‘em-dead hit show that’s earned unanimous raves and won the 2014 Tony Award® for BEST MUSICAL—A GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER!

Coming direct from New York, where a most gentlemanly NPR critic said he’d “NEVER LAUGHED SO HARD AT A BROADWAY MUSICAL,” GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE tells the uproarious story of Monty Navarro, a distant heir to a family fortune who sets out to jump the line of succession by – you guessed it – eliminating the eight pesky relatives (all played by one fearless man) who stand in his way. All the while, Monty has to juggle his mistress (she’s after more than just love), his fiancée (she’s his cousin but who’s keeping track?), and the constant threat of landing behind bars! Of course, it will all be worth it if he can slay his way to his inheritance… and be done in time for tea
.
The Hollywood Reporter raves, “GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE RESTORES OUR FAITH IN MUSICAL COMEDY” and The New York Times cheers, “IT WILL LIFT THE HEARTS OF ALL THOSE WHO’VE BEEN PINING FOR WHAT SOMETIMES SEEMS A LOST ART FORM.”

Kindly get your tickets now for the new musical that will have you dying with laughter!

    Gentleman's Guide in Chicago

by meeee123 on 10/4/15Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

It was phenomenal!!! Everything was tight and spot on. The vocals were beautiful, acting perfection, costumes gorgeous, set wonderful... nothing bad to say about this production in any way. The first act was an hour and a half but it sure didn't feel like it although several people had to get up (to use the restroom I'm assuming). What a ride!

    surprisingly funny and entertaining.

This was a very clever and entertaining show. I was worried it would be humorous without alot of "big" broadway songs but was wrong. It had all the big numbers and spectacular voices with the mix of great humor. Highly entertaining. I would definitely recommend seeing!

No wonder it won so many Tonys!

by Giantsfan72 on 10/3/15Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

This is a terrific show. From the costumes to the cast to the cleverness of the book, it is no wonder that this show has been so highly decorated. Gentlemen's Guide contains homages to a variety of shows and genres while still being fresh and original. My only complaint is that the production we attended began six minutes almost causing us to miss our return train. Despite this minor complaint, this is a show for everyone and all should see it.

The best musical I've ever seen. I had a balcony see but was able to see everything perfectly. Very funny and entertaining. Glad i got to finally see it since their final performance is in January.

    What a fun play

by Debbidoo1 on 10/2/15Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

This was a very fun and clever show. The lead actor who played all the murder victims was fantastic! I enjoyed it! The staging of things that were hard to show was great, as when the priest fell to his death from the tower. I recommend it! Only bad note were our seats in the front, left row of the Mezzanine. They leaned badly to the left since the balcony was crowned like a roadway and it was like sitting in a very narrow middle seat on a plane. No legroom at all but very good sight lines.

Great show! We had seen it on Broadway and this touring version is just as good! Funny premise and well sung.
