    A Christmas Carol was FANTASTIC!

by jjonesatx on 12/17/15Ford's Theatre - Washington

My mother decided to join me on a recent business trip to DC, so I purchased tickets to A Christmas Carol as an early Christmas surprise. Just to visit Ford's Theatre was a treat in itself, but we were enthralled by the production of A Christmas Carol - the cast & crew, set design, costumes and special effects were amazing! It was a perfect way to kick off our holiday season and get into the Christmas spirit - an evening we will always remember - thank you!!!

    A Christmas Carol Changed!

    by Frosty10 on 12/17/15Ford's Theatre - Washington

I had taken my young sons to see A Christmas Carol several times when they were young. We enjoyed the touching and quaint story as Dickens had written it. I guess it has been modernized with loud noises and bangs and very scary ghosts. I wanted to take my 4 grandson ages 7-16 to experience a live play and to hear the story of Christmas past, present and future. Frankly the story did not come across at least they did not understand it It was overtaken by the loud bangs and the ghosts so scary that we had to cuddle 3 of the grandchildren and one had to wear ear muffs to muzzle the sound They were very frightened. The actors were very loud too and you couldn't really understand the story they were telling. We endeared ourselves to Scrooge however, he was great. My sons felt the same way, we were disappointed. However we did enjoy the tour of the Ford threatre prior to the performance.

    Gets the Christmas Spirit flowing!!!!

by GhostofChristmasPasy on 12/16/15Ford's Theatre - Washington

My wife and I go see this show every year. This was our sixth time and it truly seems to get better and better. The actors are superb, the story is joyous, and the set is very well done. The actors turn over a little each year but the acting is so good you just dont mind. I would say this is a twelve year old and up production. Some of the storyline might go over their heads otherwise.

Christmas Carol at Ford's is Perfect Fit

    by PaPa828 on 12/16/15Ford's Theatre - Washington

This was an excellent rendition of the Christmas Carol and Ford's Theatre was the perfect venue. The cast was top notch and the songs/carols put you in a Christmas mood. It also provided a few hours of calm and relaxation in a sea of Christmas preparations and general craziness. It was wonderful to see families attend together, some of whom were dressed in their Christmas finest. I highly recommend this play and hope to make my family's attendance an annual tradition.

    Great Holiday Event

    by Wolf1009 on 12/15/15Ford's Theatre - Washington

Fantastic really, from start to finish. The only criticism is that the play does leave out several important parts of the original piece: Fanny's death, the infamous door knocker scene (this was a true disappointment, please put this in for next year) and the famous quote "Come know me better, man" of the ghost of Christmas Present. We are stickler's for the original. However, the Ghost of Christmas Future is fabulous, the singing, excellent, and all in all, very well done. We loved it.

    Great Christmas Show

by dphagarty on 12/14/15Ford's Theatre - Washington

For 90% of the show, I truly enjoyed it. Was not a big fan of the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come and how they betrayed it. Overall, a great show and would highly recommend it. Make sure you are in front of row H or in the Balcony. They do not tell you that there are post in the middle of the theaters that will block part of your view if you are sitting towards the back. They are there and will block your view of parts of the stage.

    The Best in Washington DC!

    by Musical3 on 12/14/15Ford's Theatre - Washington

This is the best version of "A Christmas Carol" that I have ever seen! The singing was amazing and the children were adorable! Why aren't there more family friendly shows in DC? We are always struggling to find professional musical theatre shows to bring the kids to, but there is nothing. Thank you, Ford's Theatre, for this wonderful family show!
