About
The Bygones are an indie folk duo that’s composed of guitarist Joshua Lee Turner and vocalist Allison Young. Sharing a mutual love for sounds of the past, such as jazz and classical, Golden Age musicals, ’40s big bands, ’60s singer-songwriters, and early 2010s indie rock, the pair’s first release was a cover of Willie Nelson’s “Crazy.” Released on YouTube in 2018, the cover has since amassed over 4.7 million views. In 2022, the pair recorded their first EP, May 9-12, and performed live for sold-out audiences across the UK. They made their U.S. debut as The Bygones in 2023, playing to sold-out audiences in New York City and Nashville. The combination of Young’s vocal prowess and powerful songwriting and Turner’s classical guitar background and ear for vocal harmony can be heard on the duo’s debut album, Tone Tree, which was released in April 2024.
