About

BETTER THAN EZRA IN CONCERT:

New Orleans' hometown heroes Better Than Ezra dominated '90s airwaves with a string of ubiquitous, fuzzed-out alt-rock hits like "Good" and "Desperately Wanting." The band's poppy, sing-along anthems came to define the sound of a generation, making each live show something of a reunion for their devoted fans. The elation was palpable at their 2013 shows, and with a new album due out in summer 2014, Better than Ezra will be delivering bigger than ever on their 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed by four Louisiana State University students in the late '80s, Better Than Ezra cut its teeth performing at fraternities and house parties before going on to generate buzz with their cassette-only demos. After self-releasing 1993's Deluxe, the band landed a deal with Elektra Records, who reissued the album in 1995. The record was an overnight sensation upon its re-release, spawning hits like "Good" and "Rosealia" and going on to achieve platinum certification from the RIAA. Five more albums of infectious alt-rock would follow, setting the stage for a highly anticipated new album in 2014.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

Better Than Ezra is still “Killing It”

by Crazy Lucky Guy on 5/13/24Uptown Theater - Kansas City

Better Than Ezra is one of those bands that love to perform live, which was evident in this show. They still have the drive, energy, and talent to put on an amazing performance! Kevin, Tom, Michael, and Jim expertly performed a great mix of new music like “Mystified”, “Live A Little”, and “Killing It”, classic hits like “Good”, “Desperately Wanting”, and “In the Blood”, and cover tunes including INXS’s “Never Tear Us Apart”. BTE interacted with the crowd throughout the show and kept us entertained between songs with their stage banter. I feel like we got more than our money’s worth and can’t wait to see them again!

Better Than Ezra always puts on a good show. Every time I have seen them the venue has been on the small side so even in your are in back you still feel close. They have great songs and they treat the audience like they are part of the band.

    Great show

by Papagjs on 5/12/24The Pageant - St Louis

Better than Ezra with the opening act of Hey Steve, was quite possibly. One of the most fun shows. I have ever attended in my life. And I have been to close to 400 concerts. Sometimes in life you get the chance to see a perfect pairing of bands or the perfect music festival such as wayback pointfest 2019. Thursday nights show was one of these. BTE found the perfect opening act in Hey Steve who brought a very energetic and fun show them to the pageant. This band knows how to connect with a crowd. The lead singer (luke) and the rest of this 4 piece ensemble are a fun loving bunch and it shows in their music. BTE is always a must anytime they are in St Louis. This band consistently puts out great music and their live shows are pure joy. Kevin and the guys know how to connect with thier fans and take you on a truly wonderful musical journey that will have you laughing, singing and dancing all night.

    Best performance

by Vince on 5/12/24The Pageant - St Louis

I’ve been to The Pageant and Delmar Hall many times over the last few years and I’ve seen great shows, but this particular one was just incredible! I must confess I didn’t even know the band (yeah I know) and it still will be my preferred one. Great music but the playfulness of the band, especially the lead singer, his connecting to the audience, the fun they all seemed to have performing just made it an incredible night. I cannot wait for them to come back to STL.

Best show I’ve seen in years!

by Happy Mom and Son!!!! 3.5 minutes felt like a lifetime! on 5/12/24The Pageant - St Louis

BTE blew the top off! They were interactive with the audience. Glad we got into Halo early to secure a barrier spot. Wish I got a guitar pick or drumstick, but I forgive. lol! My son and I have loved BTE for years, playlist staples. Wish there was some “nostalgic “ merch. Again, I forgive!
