Wonderland freeze out

- Austin

Could have/would have been a wonderful outing but the surprise freeze out made it impossible. Wish there had been more respect in putting out the energy to provide some covered tent space and more space heaters so the people who paid and got this sub freeze weather could have at least enjoyed some of it....We would have spent more money on food, etc. if we had an indoor warm area to eat and take a break from the freeze between rides/strolls, etc. I will try again in better weather though.

Fun but prepare to empty your wallet

- Austin

Rides were fun, lights were neat, meet and greets were fun for kiddos along with the fake snow but the cost for an evening with two kiddos is very steep!! Food was expensive....add that to the cost of rides and admission and this was quite an expensive evening! Save the money here and head to Sea World's lights.

Disappointing and a waste of money

- Austin

The whole thing was a let down. Maybe the space was too big but it looked under decorated at the entrance. The skating rink was a joke to say the least and cost extra. Those stupid magic money bands are ridiculous. Just use paper tickets or mail the bands out early or make them easier to load than downloading a damn app. The Santas village was sparse to say the least, hardly any stalls wasn't a good Christmas market at all. Basically skip this event. You'll have more fun going to round rock to walk through the town square or Greune or Fredericksburg.

expensive

- Austin

It was overpriced. I expected it to be more over the top considering is was a Circuit of the Americas. My 8 year old liked it though.

Pretty disappointing, but it is the first year...

- Austin

Good idea but it wasn’t that great. Probably better for families with little kids but not much for adults. Light displays hung on the fence were marginal and kiddie-sized train cars were not suitable for all the adult riders. Very few food vendors so limited choices. Overpriced...admission was just that, had to buy wristbands for most things to do inside so it really added up quickly. Worse was some staff didn’t really seem to know what was covered and not covered or how many “credits” some things cost. I think it’s got a lot of potential, but they really seem to make significant improvements if they want to make it an annual event.

A No-Go At Any Price

- Austin

That was enormously disappointing, and would be at any price. The mere time spent getting there and being there was a cost too high. I was looking to inspire a little Holiday spirit in the family and this was a fail. Sure, there were Christmas themed decorations and music but the whole thing seems like an afterthought. It's like COTA management said, what can we do with this amazing venue in December and then they put some college interns in charge of planning and execution. My wife said, upon leaving, I could have done better.

It’s great for very young kids but anyone over 9 would be bored. Kinda pricey for an entrance fee and then you still have to pay for everything inside

Good fun but had to pay for pretty much everything after entering the gate.

Too expensive

- Austin

They basically brought in a carnival, put up lights and called it a winter wonderland. Every single thing cost money and it was highly over priced. $4 for a bottle of water, $4 for a ride, etc. The “ice skating” wasn’t ice - not one person could move out there ($32 wasted). Huge disappointment - won’t go back.

Winter Wonderland at COTA

- Austin

They did a great job of having so much for the kids to do!! It was very spaced out so there were only a few lines that were long (train and Ferris wheel). Overall they did a really great job. Decorations, events, parking was all very easy. My one negative was the cost. I don’t mind paying for my kids to ride every ride but the costs were expensive once you were charged as an adult as well. For my family to do the Ferris wheel was 20 credits ($20) and by the time it finally went around 3 times without stopping that was a waste of money! I don’t feel like you should charge adults with kids who have a minimum height requirement. Unlimited kid wristbands are a must! Overall great event but they nickel & dime you for everything once inside.
