About

Wet Leg's blend of dry wit and minimalist-punk riffs started off as a joke between Isle of Wight duo Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers. However, reality soon hit with their debut single 'Chaise Longue' becoming an overnight sensation and clocking up over seven million streams to date. With the numbers initially seeming virtual, it took their set at last year's Latitude Festival to make it all feel real. Being amongst other musicians and seeing the packed-out tent sing along with the witty, Mean Girls-loving track made Wet Leg finally see themselves as legitimate musicians.

And it's been a long time coming. Teasdale and Chambers met over a decade ago at college, but the idea to make music together came after a drunken ferris wheel ride at End of the Road festival in 2019. Fun has always been the focus, so while drawing from 60s French Yé-yé movement, right through to Ty Segall's garage-psych frenzies and Björk's avant-garde pop, the excitement comes from their knack of telling a good story. Sharp-elbowed stomper 'Wet Dream' is the ultimate breakup track, crescendoing three-parter 'Too Late Now' documents the highs and lows of adulthood, and 'Oh No' makes light of the 3am doomscroll with its wiry yet driving melody.

The hype around Wet Leg is well deserved, and with their debut album 'Wet Leg' ready for release in early April via Domino (Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand), the glowing reviews from across the board are only set to multiply. In the meantime, Teasdale and Chambers are preparing for their UK tour dates, including an intimate stint around the country's independent venues as IDW ambassadors, and a full UK tour in April in support of their album release.

    Magical

    by Waltie on 2/11/23

Screaming, Crying, Throwing up! Absolutely an experience I will never forget. It made me so happy to see them twirling and having fun on stage. Astonishing vocals and instrumentals. They could sing the alphabet and I’d pay an arm and a Wet Leg to go!

    Great love band

by davestwin7 on 12/8/22Delmar Hall - Saint Louis

For a newish band, played live brilliantly. Very cohesive and the more well known songs were great. I know they only have one album, but to play for less than an hour was disappointing

    Great venue great staff

by Chris on 12/8/22Delmar Hall - Saint Louis

Good show. Sound was weak for the first three songs then somebody hit the “sound good” button and it started hitting. Good stuff. Could have played a little longer but I guess only one album out. Learn some covers!

    Awesome energy

by Dan on 12/5/22XL Live - Harrisburg

Awesome energy and incredibly tight set. Small venues make the shows even more incredibly. Great vibes from the crowd!!

    Wet Leg

    by Pooch1207 on 12/5/22XL Live - Harrisburg

The show was great! Wet Leg was fantastic & the opener was also an unexpected surprise (Faux Real was the name, I think). The venue was great! I’d like to go to a show in the nice weather!

    So much fun!

    by S. S. on 9/19/22

I was at the Phoenix, Arizona show. It’s been three days since the concert and I still do not have my voice because I had so much that night. I especially loved when it gets to the screaming part for “ur mum.” Truly a blast! I hope to see them again someday.

Wet Leg was good but, why no encore?

by Wet Leg Fan on 9/18/22The Van Buren - Phoenix

First thing is that the opening act "Faux Real" was bizarre in a bad way. Didn't really care for them. Wet Leg did an ok job. They just delivered a show but they did very little to make it memorable. It's not like the crowd wasn't into it because the crowd was awesome. I go to a lot of concerts and this was just ok.
