About

With 10 Tony® nominations including Best Musical, SOMETHING ROTTEN! is a “big, fat hit!” (New York Post). Set in the ‘90s – the 1590s – this hilarious smash tells the story of Nick and Nigel Bottom (Tony® nominee Rob McClure and Broadway’s Josh Grisetti), two brothers who are desperate to write their own hit play while the “rock star” Shakespeare (Tony® nominee Adam Pascal) keeps getting all the hits. When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first MUSICAL! With its heart on its ruffled sleeve and sequins in its soul, SOMETHING ROTTEN! is “The Producers + Spamalot + The Book of Mormon. Squared!” (New York Magazine).

The songs were great. The story wacky and fun. Great jokes to go with the catchy songs.

    Hilarious

by Yes Theatre on 2/16/22Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

Haven’t laughed so much in a long time. Knowledge of Shakespeare and musicals makes the play more enjoyable. A woman next to me asked why I laughed so much. First of all it is a comedy, secondly I understood the jokes, sadly I don’t think she got the Shakespeare or musicals references. I’d go again just to laugh again

Something Rotten is a must see!

by Chaney on 2/16/22Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

I was pleasantly surprised by this show. I'd heard a few of the songs, came prepared to like it. But I actually LOVED IT! Hilarious, and the cast gave an outstanding performance-ESPECIALLY for a super bowl Sunday matinee. Highly recommend going to see it, my daughter and I can't wait for it to come back so we can go again

One of the most fun and fabulous performances I've seen in quite some time. The cast was spectacular and the show referenced so many of my all time favorites. What a treat. Thank you Kavli Theater and the amazing performers for reminding me how much I love theater, especially when it's done this well!!!
