About

Damon Wayans is most fondly remembered for his three seasons as writer and co-star on the Emmy Award-winning series In Living Color. There, he created sketch characters like “Homey the Clown,” “Handiman” and outrageously gay film critic Blaine from “Men on Film”. His writing for the series earned him two personal Emmy® nominations.

Wayans has enjoyed tremendous success in stand-up. After starting his career in 1982 touring the comedy club circuit, he landed a role as a featured player on the famed NBC series Saturday Night Live. Wayans went on to star in his own critically acclaimed HBO specials, One Night Stand, The Last Stand, Still Standing and WayOut.

The Damon's are a good time. Wish I could give 4.5

by willzimm on 1/20/15Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

First of all, I genuinely had a good time and honestly laughed for both performers during the show. If there was a second show and tickets available, I would have readily bought them and went again. Damon Jr. came on first. Only knowing him from “Let's be Cops” and New Girl, I did not know what to expect. Some of his routine was a little obvious that he was working the crowd. He asked about basketball and if people had a team. He used the interaction to get the audience into his routine. When he gets a little more experience at working the crowd he'll be able to do this better and we will not see it happening. His transfer from the crowd answering him to his routine was not as smooth as Damon Sr. I still honestly laughed during his performance and do not regret going. Damon Jr. gave a good show, but you could tell he was telling jokes and running routines. Of course that was what we were there for. I am not complaining, just reporting. Still well worth the time and the money. I paid $88 for the full show and would give $44 to see just his part again. That sounds a little bad, but I mean it honestly and in full support of Damon Jr.’s ability. Damon Sr. knows how to work the crowd. Within a few minutes of his set I was engaged and about 95 percent was seamless. I had seen a review that the first half of his routine was good and the second half was all about diabetes and was not very good. The person saying this must have diabetes and feel bad about it because Damon Sr. did a good job with it. He related an event in his life that could be tragic and used it to show good humor and a positive perception of life. Finding out that Damon Sr. has a personal thing in his life that can be dangerous and deadly, but that he can still have the ability to see life as good allowed me to feel good about him, almost as if he was more than just a personality. There was only one small part that was not very effective for me. He made a reminiscent bit about when Marlon and he were out hanging with women in their youth. It almost seemed that there was an inside joke going on there between Damon and Marlon, because he really did not need that part of the routine to be funny. It was almost like the bit was intentional for it to get back to Marlon. Well worth the price of the show and I would definitely go again. BTW, this is a review and if you want to hear their jokes, go see the show.

I thought I would have a great time at this event, given the headliners names. I was very disappointed. The seating was terrible and the show was not at all what I expected. Some comedy was appropriate for the 90s, but not so much anymore. I think some comedians are much funnier when scripted instead of standing in front of a crowd. The use of the N-word pretty much dominated the first act, and the topic of diabetes was The second. Very disappointing considering I grew up loving Damon Wayans.

Damon Wayans...Awesome from beginning to end

by Jenn2008 on 11/11/14Cobb's Comedy Club - San Francisco

VENUE: The staff at Cobbs were amazing, very attentive, accommodating and friendly. There was a huge crowd and long line, as expected with a great headliner, but once the doors opened the lined moved fast. As soon as we were seated are waitress came over to get our drink order, and stayed on top of it all night. SHOW: The opening acts were all funny from the "pre"host to the headliner, we laughed the whole time. I would definitely come out to see him again.

Damon wayans was ok, I couldn't really pay attention To the show because both headliners jokes were Horrible, plus I couldn't get past the horrible service We received from our server. We were a group of African Americans Celebrating my husbands birthday. She slammed our drinks On the table and had to flag her down several times. We are a group of young intelligent people and wished We weren't treated that way.

by LadyRattler on 8/26/14Abraham Chavez Theatre - El Paso

I don't believe Damon Wayans show was promoted well, had it been, more people would have come out and supported. This show was absolutely well worth the time and $.This guy has not lost his touch at all, he was absolutely hilarious! Anyone who wasn't there missed a great show to include the comedian who opened the show. This show was funnier than last years Mike Epps show. Damon Wayans will always be one of the comedic all stars!!
