Ralphie Parker wants only one thing for Christmas: An Official Red Ryder® Carbine-Action 200-shot Range Model Air Rifle. A Christmas Story, The Musical is the hilarious account of Ralphie’s desperate quest to ensure that this most perfect of gifts ends up under his tree this Christmas.
Directed by Tony Award®-winner John Rando and choreographed by Warren Carlyle, this new Broadway musical based on the classic 1983 movie, which itself was based on stories by legendary radio humorist Jean Shepherd, features funny and heartfelt songs by Benj Pasek & Justin Paul and a faithful yet inventive book by Joseph Robinette.
The New York Times says, “I WAS DAZZLED” and the Associated Press calls it, “A CHARMING TRIUMPH INFUSED WITH UTTER JOY.” A Christmas Story captures holiday wonder with such deliciously wicked wit that it is sure to delight children and grown-ups alike!

There was a delay in show because of cast changes last minute but felt it went off without a hitch . Great performance in a great theater!
Well done, great talent. Followed the story very well. The only thing I missed was the Little Orphan Annie decoder pin.
Access was extremely easy. The performance was excellent!
Wonderful show. Very very entertaining. Cast was outstanding. Would highly recommend. Will likely go again next year if available !!!!
A Christmas Story The Musical take a timeless Christmas classic and brings it to life in a way that draws you in from the very beginning. The story was incredibly well told and the songs accentuated the story in a way that truly made it a magical experience. This has always been one of my favorite movies, and was blown away with how well the musical was done!
It was my family's first time at DPAC and we were all very impressed with how organized things were - from parking to all the good covid protocols in place. The only thing that I wished had been better were our seats. (Which is not anyone's fault of course!) Because we were far up in section 9, we couldn't see any details of the actor's faces, costumes, set designs or other things that would have enhanced the experience. I found myself wishing for a screen (jumbotron!) of sorts. Lesson learned!
I took my 7 year old daughter here knowing she would love it and i was correct. She didn't want to miss a second of it. I didn't think id like it because it was a musical but I enjoyed it just as much as she did. We liked it so much I booked for Cinderella during intermission.
Adorable, funny, timeless tale. Such a wonderful play. Was lucky enough to have seen this play before the movie. Every cast member was perfect.
I have watched A Christmas Story the movie every year of my life since the 80s so when I found out it was a musical, I was pretty skeptical. My mind has been totally changed. This musical has all the elements of the movie, is just as hysterical but has incredible song and dance numbers added. The tap number in particular was incredible and so memorable. The cast is top notch including the kids who are so incredibly talented. I loved seeing Asian, Hispanic and Bi-racial cast members added as the last 2 are not in the movie. I felt the entire production from the orchestra, to the cast, sets, the adorable dogs and songs were just what we needed this holiday season. RUN to see this show before the it's over. You won't regret it.
