by GammaRho on 8/1/18Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

the show was amazing. the music and the dancing were wonderful. I especially liked that you could understand all the words in the songs. the venue is comfortable and was a pleasant temperature especially since it was a very hot afternoon.

    Wonderful venue, wonderful show!

by AlwaysBkind on 8/1/18Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

I cannot say how amazing the experience was of seeing Newsies at the Duke Energy Center. It is the warmest, coziest, and nicest venue I have been to in North Carolina. The staff were all extremely kind and even had local talent singing in the lobby before the doors opened to the theater. The cast was nothing short of incredible- rivaled seeing the real thing on Broadway! They even came out and signed the program afterwards. Looking forward to attending more shows here soon!

    phenomenal as usual!

by madjoallen on 8/1/18Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

Newsies is one of my absolute favorite shows. Not only do my husband and I sing the songs together in the car, but I used Newsies in my classroom this year. I was thrilled to find out that it was coming to Raleigh! The show was impeccable! The choreo, the vocals, the set! It was all amazing! Way to go NC Theater!!!!

    Newsies was amazing!

by Bailey0819 on 8/1/18Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

This was a fabulous production! The actors were a fantastic triple-threat of singing, acting, and dancing. The show was high-energy, and such a joy to watch! I would highly recommend this show to anyone even remotely interested in theater. My only negative comment is with the venue itself. Please, please, please rethink your policy of allowing food and drink into the theater. While a kid beside me happily (and messily) munched on his pretzel, someone behind me spilled their wine, and it poured onto my feet and purse, causing a mad scramble to limit the damage. Perhaps the adult sippy cups that I have seen in other venues could be employed? I enjoy a glass of wine as much as the next person, but not all over my feet and purse!

Go for the Disney, stay for the dancing

by MGNC on 7/31/18Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - Raleigh

The Dickens meets Marx story is overshadowed, in a good way, by the great singing and even better dancing in this production. A just-right stage design and management adds to the enjoyment. Recommended.
