Beautiful
Fox Cities PAC - Appleton
The experience was so beautiful. I enjoyed how they took traditional dances but paired it contemporary music. I actually cried during the portion that reflects dual heritages. I really enjoyed the discussion afterwards, it really added to the experience.

The music… the variety… the cultural representation! All of this plus some incredibly talented dancers made this night one of the most entertaining performances I have ever seen. I hope they come back next year!!!

Absolutely Gorgeous!
Fox Cities PAC - Appleton
Ballet Hispanico is made up of such extremely talented artists/dancers/athletes that it made it pure joy for me to enjoy every minute of their performance at the PAC. As a dancer/choreographer, I attend performances of every dance company that comes to our area and this was one of the best shows I have seen! The choreography was creative, fluid, and meaningful, the costumes were perfect for each piece, and the dancers were absolutely Gorgeous!!

Astounding show
Apollo Theater - New York
Completely immersive and hits all the registers from upbeat to emotionally appealing to politically arresting. So glad I bought tickets to see this stunning set of dancers bring so much interpretation to life! My boyfriend, who has never been to a ballet or anything like this, also thoroughly enjoyed it.

Ballet Hispanico offered an evening of excellence & intrigue
Apollo Theater - New York
Each ballet was fully conceived and detailed. Each choreographer presented subject matter that is current while addressing the changing times. The dancers were magnificent in technique and expression. The lighting supported the dance and helped tell the story, but at times seemed uneven, perhaps there were moments of technical failure, but this did not stop the brilliance of the performance. The costumes were flawless, and the audience receptive to the entire evening. Ballet Hispanico are on par with the great dance companies of the world. Bravo!

Excellent show
Apollo Theater - New York
The show was amazing, the story telling was memorizing. The theee reality based stories were felt by the dancer's ability to showcase the emotions through their movements. I loved it.

Ballet Hispanico in Dona Peron
A portrait of power: Dona Peron brings Evita's emotional story to life.
Performed by New York-based Ballet Hispanico and with live music, Dona Peron has delighted audiences across North America since its 2022 premiere.
Alberta Ballet is pleased to welcome guest company Ballet Hispanico in Dona Peron, a complex and moving portrait of Eva "Evita" Peron, Argentina's most controversial first lady.
The extremes of power - working class struggle versus high-class opulence - are at play throughout Evita's life story. Having risen from a shameful past as a dancehall girl to become an influential political figure, she is best known for her activism, championing rights for descamidsados ("the shirtless ones" or working-class laborers).
Choreographer Annebelle Lopez Ochoa (also the choreographer of Alberta Ballet's BOTERO from the 22-23 season) offers new voice to the complex story of a beloved and controversial icon and beautifully infuses ballet with tango in a stunning contemporary work.
"She's not a fairytale character, she's not a literary character. She's a real woman, and for me, it's interesting to put her on stage because she's difficult to pin point. I want to give female dancers real roles, not always the nice roles."
Choreographer: Annabelle Lopez Ochoa
