About

The ultimate love story continues in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies, the spellbinding sequel to The Phantom of the Opera.

Love Never Dies is a dazzling new production, which takes audiences on a thrilling rollercoaster ride of intrigue, obsession and romance. Be seduced by the beautiful; sometimes magical and poetic; sometimes joyful; and occasionally melancholic score. Don’t miss this magnificent continuation of one of the world’s greatest love stories.

The year is 1907. It is 10 years after his disappearance from the Paris Opera House and the Phantom has escaped to a new life in New York where he lives amongst the screaming joy rides and freak shows of Coney Island. In this new, electrically charged world, he has finally found a place for his music to soar, but he has never stopped yearning for his one true love and musical protégée, Christine Daaé.

Not sure where all these “ok” reviews came from! If your a true Phantom of the Opera fan you will love this!! It is fantastic for the second half of the story! Will explain more and truly show that love never dies! I was a hot mess at the end and it has many memorable songs! Can’t wait to see it again!! Thank you so much Mr. Webber!!

No love for Love Never Dies

by Foo1Fan on 9/14/18The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

Venue rating is 5 stars. The Orpheum Theatre is stunning as always. Love Never Dies: This was one of those shows where you think about what you might have done that evening instead of this show. The costumes, sets, and general theatrics were impressive, and some of the performers had beautiful voices (though sometimes, you couldn't understand the words), but the story was...meh. At intermission, my friends and I were checking in - "what do you think so far?"...and we all agreed....an unenthusiastic, "it's alright." I even saw a couple of people leave at intermission. The second act was better than the first, and there were bits that were decent, but overall, the story was too contrived and disjointed. That said, I didn't hate it...just kind of indifferent to it.

    Better than expected

by ctemsg on 9/12/18The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

I went with mixed emotions, expecting to see an average to below production. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I enjoyed it way more than I thought i would! Of course, no music will ever compare to that in Phantom, and I don't expect any memorable music to come out of it, other than the "Love Never Dies" theme. The rest is pretty forgettable. There are some unexpected surprises that will leave you with an 'aha' moment or two. The cast was quite good, especially the young Gustav! His voice is fantastic. I wouldn't pay to see it again as I have done many times to see the original Phantom.

    Forgetable

by getovritwilya on 9/12/18The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

Like with most sequels, this one included, you're left with, "awww, that was disappointing". While the performances were worthwhile, the storyline squered the original theme. But, like most, I had to go see where they were going to go with this. Just did not suit my taste.

    spectacular

by GammyRay on 9/12/18The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

After seeing Phantom six times, I was exited to hear of Love Never Ends. It didn't disappoint. Music, lights, costumes and front row seat were all spectacular. Now I'm hoping for a sequel to the sequel!

    Good show.....

by Boomerang2 on 9/12/18The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

This sequel to Phantom of the Opera is a good production, but not as intriguing. The musical score is not nearly as intense. A good show however.

    Great, but not his best.

by fjdksle on 9/12/18The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

We enjoyed Love Never Dies!!! But Phantom is still my favorite. It took a few minutes to get into the circus theme. Cast was great.

Really great voices and sets, no memorable songs

by RockFanClassic on 9/12/18The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

The singing in this musical was beautiful, and the sets were really amazingly good. However, we didn’t find one song that we went home singing later. So, we enjoyed the show quite a bit, but it’s not one we would need to see you again.
