About

TRANSVIOLET IN CONCERT:

LA-based electropop quartet Transviolet is fast on the rise thanks to their bleeding-edge sound, killer style, and captivating live performances. The band's minimal beats and sparkling synths are definitely seductive, but what really makes them stand out is their ability to tap into the current cultural zeitgeist through their clever-as-hell lyrics. Anthems like "New Bohemians" and "Girls Your Age" promote living with an open mind and putting love and authenticity before fame and fortune – a message that resonates with young pop fans who increasingly crave substance over style. Transviolet has plenty of both, and they strike the perfect balance between effortless cool and earnest emotion as they recreate their songs in concert with bass, guitar, and an electronic drum kit. At the center of it all is frontwoman Sarah McTaggart, a vocal powerhouse whose mix of bold self-assuredness and tender vulnerability perfectly embodies the band's dynamic sound.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Transviolet started to take shape in the early '10s when bassist Michael Panek and drummer Jon Garcia met singer Sarah McTaggart on a social networking site for musicians. After bouncing ideas back and forth via email for more than a year, McTaggart and guitarist Judah McCarthy moved to Los Angeles to join the pair. The newly minted quartet dropped their debut single "Girls Your Age" in early 2015 and got a boost right away when Katy Perry selected it as her song of the day, Tweeting it out to her 75MM+ followers.  A remix by synthpop heavyweight Twin Shadow followed, and in late 2015 the band dropped their self-titled debut EP to critical acclaim. Since then they've wowed ticket buyers opening for acts like Mikky Ekko and LANY, proving themselves stellar performers and drumming up major excitement for their full-length debut album.

    INCREDIBLE

by leah on 5/21/23The Bronze Peacock at House of Blues Houston - Houston

I knew going in that this venue was on the smaller side, but on arrival i bummed that the crowd was still smaller than expected. But that didn't stop Transviolet from bringing their full force to the stage with an incredible performance! High energy, interactive, great lights, and they sounded AMAZING!! I was a casual appreciator before this show and i left with a sticker and two band tees, following them on all socials. Excellent performance, 10/10 recommend seeing them if you get a chance!!

Not to be dramatic, but life-changing

by Bonnie on 10/17/21The Echo - Los Angeles

Transviolet (+ King Mala) have been two of my favorite artists for years, it was so incredible meet them in person, and for only $20 a ticket after tax. The venue itself was small and personal, and there were lots of merch options. Everyone was so sweet and kind, and the performers were amazing on stage! 10/10 the best.
