Self-described "Brass House" trio Too Many Zooz make manically kinetic instrumental music that combines avant-garde jazz, EDM, punk rock, and sundry other traditions into their own distinctive brand of high-energy dance music. A viral sensation since they first emerged as New York subway buskers in 2013, Too Many Zooz have evolved into a globally recognized phenomenon who tour often and produce YouTube videos that have garnered millions of views.
Formed in 2013 in New York City, Too Many Zooz features the talents of baritone saxophonist Leo "Leo P" Pellegrino, trumpeter Matt "Doe" Muirhead, and drummer David "King of Sludge" Parks. Pellegrino and Muirhead initially met while students at the Manhattan School of Music where they studied jazz. They eventually joined forces with percussionist Parks, whom Pellegrino had played with in a separate busking outfit. They began playing live at various New York subway stations and quickly attracted crowds with their aggressive instrumental sound and Pellegrino's ability to dance and hype the audience like a DJ while playing. In 2014, a video of the band went viral and helped set the stage for the group's meteoric rise.
In 2016, the trio released their debut full-length album, Subway Gawdz, which featured guest spots from Kreayshawn, Armani White, members of Galactic, and Beats Antique. That same year they were featured on Beyonce's Lemonade album, and performed with Beyonce and The Dixie Chicks at the CMA's.
Too Many Zooz have continued to release EP's - holiday-themed EP A Very Too Many Zooz Xmas (2018), ZombiEP (2019), a concept album about a fictional band playing a music festival during a zombie outbreak, Covers (2022), Pecking Order (2022), plus collaborations and remixes with The Floozies, Beats Antique, Spencer Ludwig, Moon Hooch, Dot Cromwell, Nitty Scott, Lester London, and RoRo. The band is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on their sophomore LP.
My husband wanted to see Too Many Zooz and for surprise and he loved everything from before to after!!!! He was even more impressed he was able to meet the artists!!!! Will most definitely do it again!!!!
Too Many Zoos put on an outstanding show. Their sound is unique and world class. The energy from the band (especially Leo P's dancing) was incredible.
We all had a wonderful time watching Too Many Zooz in Indianapolis! We've all loved them for several years now and jumped at the chance to go see them in person. Highly recommend! Would 100% go again given the chance!
Delmar Hall was a great venue to see and get up close to the artistists.Pell opened and really got the crowd going with his backpack rap style.Had waited quite awhile for the Zooz to come to Lou and they did not.disappoint.Matt Muirhead was entertaining and really enjoyed his keyboard work as well as his trumpet.Mr Parks on percussions kept everything on time laying out some foot moving beats.and Leo P is Leo P enough said.Great show .great crowd great time

These three musicians are so talented together. Somehow, the vibes these three put out just makes you want to move and unwind!!! Please come back to ravinia or north Chicagoland - we need you Too Many Zooz!
This was a great show! I danced all through it! The sound could be better, there was some feedback in the bass drum. The musician were amazing!
We had the best time at Too Many Zooz on Saturday. So much fun, energy, lots of dancing, and laughs. We will definitely try and catch the again. House of Blues was the perfect venue.
I’ve been a fan of this band for as long as I can remember and they certainly did not disappoint. We were able to stand right up at the front and everything about the show was perfect. Their music is fantastic live and they have such great stage presence.
Too Many Zooz is a great group. They always deliver the energy and put on a great show. No frills or fancy video effects. Just your standard lights, sounds, and awesome dance moves by Leo P. You can't help but move your body!
