BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

As one of music’s most renowned producers, Tony Visconti has hugely influenced the sound of glam rock and experimental music. Born in Brooklyn in 1944, he had mastered several instruments by the age of 15 and began playing in local bands soon after. In the early ‘70s he played bass as a member of David Bowie backing bands The Hype and The Spiders from Mars. After touring with Bowie for years he transitioned into a role as the eclectic musician’s go-to producer, helming the board on watershed albums like Diamond Dogs (1974), Low (1977), Heroes (1977), and Scary Monsters (1980). After working with artists as diverse as Brian Eno, Iggy Pop, Thin Lizzy, T. Rex, The Moody Blues, and Morrissey, Visconti won a Grammy for his work on Angélique Kidjo’s album Djin Djin. He continues to impress with every new record he produces, and fans won't want to miss the opportunity to see this behind-the-scenes master as he steps into the spotlight to flex his instrumental chops.
