    Thin Lizzy Kicked Ass!

by PBC01 on 12/3/11Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra Beach

Been a huge Lizzy fan since high school (graduated in '84) and finally got to see the revamped band in Ponte Vedra. Of course, the late great Philip Lynott is sorley missed, however, the new band was tight and sounded terrific. Scott Gorham was great. Brian Downey was awesome. Darren Wharton was engaged and seemed to really be enjoying himself. The new singer did an admirable job, especially when you consider the shoes he has to fill. The new guitarist sounds good but I was somewhat disappointed that John Sykes no longer plays in the new band. I think It would be incredible to get Brian "Robbo" Robertson back in the band. Marco Mendoza (Ted Nugent, Whitesnake) is an absolute MONSTER on bass. The bottom line: A great energetic show, featuring legendary music performed by tremendous musicians in an intimate venue. Would go back and see them again in heartbeat. Also, got to meet and hang out with many cool people at this show which is always neat.

    Thin Lizzy at Ponte Vedra

Thin Lizzy wasn't bad,but the concert hall was terrible. Would not go there again. Bad acoustics and just plain boring.

This was my first time seeing this group, but hopefully not my last. My husband and I really enjoyed the band. My husband could not stay in his seat and I was chair dancing. They are so good. OMG! It was AMAZING!

you won't be disappointed you will be rocked

by junkbiz on 11/14/11Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - Milwaukee

this gig was without Judas Priest at the casino so booth seating. Had a great spot nest to lights and sound so I was able to stand up and dance without obstructing any fans view. You need the room to dance, as thin lizzy has you rocking from the moment they kicked off. Thin lizzy never really left after Phil Lynott died, they have rocked along all this time. Saw them in Milwaukee 10 years or so before this one. Guitar playing was at it's finest as the three remaining vetrans and the 3 new guys are wonderful together. Very good concert, loved dancin' in the moonlight, don't believe a word, and of course the classics of jailbreak and the cowboy song. Don't miss this opportunity. Had a blast. 46 years old wishin I would have seen them in the 70's.

What a great set, though there are only two original members left, they can still bring the energy!

Boys are not only back in town, they still rock.

    by 5CardCharlie on 11/13/11Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - Milwaukee

Thin Lizzy was and still is an amazing band. Yes we know and understand that Phil Lynott has not been with the band since his un-timely death, yet they still rock all the tunes you remember. With great energy, Ricky Warwick fills the shoes of Phil, and that's no easy task. Scott Gorham has been such a great guitar player and the reason so many people went out and bought a Les Paul guitar to play in their garage bands still plays every riff and lead note for note. With the recent addition of Damon Johnson on guitar, he and Scott sound like they have been playing the harmony leads together for the last 25 years. Marco Mendoza on bass brings incredible energy, bouncing all over the stage. Last but not least, Brian Downey rocks the drum kit with a brief drum solo to let you know who is the foundation and the heart beat of this band. I went in hoping for something good, and man they delivered. Somewhere Phil has a big smile on his face I'm sure.

Great to get a chance to see Thin Lizzy. I hope they come back to Milwaukee again soon. They would rock Summerfest? I know I would be there with friends.

    by Jimbo63 on 11/13/11Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - Milwaukee

The newly reformed and revitalized Thin LIzzy put on a great performance at this great venue in Milwaukee. Original members Scott Gorham and Brian Downey anchored a great pertformance and new full time member Damon Johnson on guitar is a great fit! Time for a new album! We are ready to rock!
