About

A multi-instrumentalist rooted in the genres of Jazz, Funk, Folk, Latin and Hip Hop, Neal Rosenthal sought different paths to continue creating music when his trumpet career was halted via multiple traumatic brain injuries. It was thanks to these events that he sought other ways to continue performing, and thus became alarmingly proficient in Guitar, Dobro, Cello and Pedal Steel. Neal launched The Red Note Project as a collective that aims to motivate every individual to be responsible for their healing process and to overcome hardships through original compositions and improvisational conversations. The collective's debut album, The Red Note Project, was released in February of 2019 and has performed to sold out venues in New York City and New England. A live show will deliver everything from lyrical trumpet melodies, soaring dynamic guitar leads, wheeping pedal steel swells, to intricate arrangements, infectious grooves and his hit or miss "Dad jokes".

In June of 2021, Neal released a collaborative album with Wy and Chris Borelli entitled, 99 Degrees and is currently working on his sophomore solo album; set to be rolled out in a 3 part EP series in the end of 2021 and through the beginning of 2022.

Neal has performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Beantown Jazz Festival, Umbria Jazz Festival, Feinstein’s/54 Below , and Rise Up As One Festival. He has opened for musical greats like George Clinton w/ Parliament Funkadelic, Juanes, and Livingston Taylor, Alissia Benveniste, Alejandro Sanz, Jesse y Joy, Bearstronaut (Boston Music Awards 2016, 2017, 2018 Electronic Artist of the Year), Covey, Chris Borelli, Granite To Glass, Melaner (Reina De La Cancion), Rilla Force, Viva la Hop and many others.
