Independents was intriguing and captivating!

P. on 11/6/19The Theater Center - New YorkFor anyone who knows these wonderfully brilliant artists, The Independents brought to live their complex egos, their ambitions, and their fascinating contentiousness and mutual respect. I recognized each work by Cassatt and found them all captivating even as reproductions. Dramatization of art in progress is almost impossible, but Mr. Ward admirably focused on how these two great artists pushed each other forward while jabbing at each other, in the name of artistic creativity. The actors embodied their characters convincingly, though by all accounts the historical Ms Cassatt was nowhere near as beautiful as Ms Babic.
