About

Cover band extraordinaire, the Detroit Cobras have built a solid reputation by uncovering long lost R&B classics and obscure rock & roll tunes and then infusing them with their own distinct Midwest rock vibe. Using this formula, they've produced musical gems such as their 1998 debut Mink Rat or Rabbit, 2001's Life, Love and Leaving and 2004's Baby. Since 1996, they've built a strong following at home (starting with the fans of Detroit's garage rock scene) as well as plenty of glowing press in the UK where they inked a deal with the legendary indie label Rough Trade. They've also appeared on the compilation Sympathetic Sounds of Detroit, produced by Jack White of the White Stripes.

The Detroit Cobras were as fun as ever, high energy and entertaining. But Girl in a Coma stole the evening by far. Everything about their performance and music screamed (literally, at times) pure talent, innovation, and kick-assness. Their recordings amazed me but their live performance brought me to my knees in worship of real, intelligent, delicious music.

Great show! Those Darlins were a lot of fun but the highlight for me was the opening band. Amazing singer with an awesome band to back him up.

I enjoyed the small, hole in the wall bar. The excitement of the past shown by endless posters and bumper stickers plastering the walls and ceiling. Not to mention the energy and personality of the band!
