    Dance Recital No Nutcraker

    by Kris on 12/17/23

This is not at all as advertised. This is far from a ballet and is mostly filled with dance numbers. This show does not have a storyline and was incredibly disappointing. If you want to see the Nutcracker, I recommend going to the NYC Ballet.

    Great show

by The Chauncelor on 12/27/22Kings Theatre - Brooklyn

Great spectacle. The first half was traditional, the second half celebrates the diversity that is Brooklyn. Great staging and dancing. Fantastic

    Fantastic show

by Happy Nani on 12/21/22Kings Theatre - Brooklyn

Great option for Brooklyn population, sometimes is hard to go or get tickets in Manhattan. I highly recommend this show and will take my grandchild again & again, the variety of themes and different than the usual Nutcracker ballet was amazing.

    Fantastic Evening

by Liz on 12/21/22Kings Theatre - Brooklyn

I can't say enough about the performance I attended with my family on Saturday. We were so pleased and beyond happy and excited with every single performance. Quire a captivating and beautiful show. Well orchestrated, with beautiful costumes and professional performers, who put their heart and soul into their parts. The music, was wonderful. The varying images that appeared as backgrounds, were breathtaking. We cannot wait for 2023 performance. I must add, Kings Theatre is a beautiful place to be in. Everyone please buy tickets next year. Do Not Miss It

Beautiful display of Brooklyn’s cultural diversity

by dee on 12/20/22Kings Theatre - Brooklyn

I’ve wanted to attend the Brooklyn Nutcracker for years, and I’m so glad I finally did. It is a beautiful performance. The scenes with the Native American hoop dance and the one with the Afrobeat dancers juxtaposed with the ballet dancers were my favorites. But really, everything was a joy to watch.

    Great

by Deitrich on 12/20/22Kings Theatre - Brooklyn

The performance was great. Non-traditional aspect fit the classic music well. My only concern was that the Theater let late arrivers in and they blocked the view as well as used cell phone flashlight to find their seats. This went on for the first twenty minutes of the performance. Kudos to the dancers who from where I could see did not miss a beat due to the distractions.

    Annoyed and underwhelmed

by Nicky on 12/16/21Kings Theatre - Brooklyn

First, I'll say that the show wasn't terrible. Kids would probably give a different review than me because we see things differently as we age. The first act of the show was definitely Nutcracker, but the second act must have been something else. The dancers definitely worked hard and I applaud them for that, but it seemed like a dance recital to me. Now, the reason I was annoyed was because for about the first 15 minutes of the show late comers kept strolling in, blocking the performance for me and my kids. They blocked the isles, took LONG to find their seats. It was very distracting. My kids kept trying to navigate their heads around the figures in the dark trying to see what they missed when others were applauding. KINGS THEATER please, give people like 5 minutes grace period then keep them out till the 2nd act. I definitely don't feel like got my money's worth.
