    Amazing artists and performers!

by ChugaNuga on 5/2/12Brighton Music Hall - Boston

The Big Pink was amazing live!! The venue was shitty and didn't do them justice, but the band was great. They had great charisma and even though the place was nowhere near packed, they put on a good show! The only start that was lost was due to the venue. But the performers were 5/5!

    The Big Pink Rocked It!

by Pattieladi on 4/28/12Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

First things first, loved the Bowery Ballroom. Arrived early so the lounge downstairs was perfect to relax before the show. The stage area is small enough to really enjoy the band and be able to see their faces. Music was intense. Appeared to be some technical troubles, but the only reason I figured that was because the stagehand had to come on a few times. The band, by NO means, gave the slightest impression anything was off. They just kept on playing great music. Definitely a band that sounds just as good live as they do in recording and that is sadly not the case with too many mainstream bands. The Big Pink can write, they can play, and they can sing! Cannot wait to see these guys again!

Great show overall....opening act was strange but good....A Place to Bury Strangers was incredibly loud but I had a smile on my face throughout their set! Reminded me a bit of a My Bloody Valentine concert with the vocals buried and the guitars set at 11+. Big Pink have gotten considerably more popular since I saw them at the Larimer Lounge and their act has gotten more bombastic as well- HUGE riffs, giant synths and the lead singer was spot on all night. Seemed to me that the crowd thinned out a bit after APtBS but a good time was had by all!

The Big Pink, loud and noisy

by smallpink on 4/6/10Webster Hall - New York

Saw "The Big Pink", at Webster Hall. The sound was in my opinion extremely bad, it was simply too loud. voices and melody drowned totaly in the deeper sounds of especially the drums and bas. Same thing was the problem with the two warm up bands, who got no presentation, and had no comunication at all with the audience. "The Big Pink" came and gave one hour, delivered their songs, and left. They are in my opinion not yet good enough to be that arogant. Webster Hall in it self is a great place for musical events.

Good show...the bassist has some weird hair flipping thing going on that was kind of distracting, but the sound was good and the crowd was enjoying it.

No one can mix echoy rock bands in this town

by NicoloNYC on 3/31/10Webster Hall - New York

and it may not just be this town... I went to see "A place to bury strangers" a band that if they were mixed correctly would have sounded 10 times better. Webster Hall has a great sound system it just didn't do them justice. "The Big Pink" slightly better mixed, I'm not as into them though. I saw "My Bloody Valentine" at APW same story mixed like ass. (I live in Brooklyn and I occasionally run sound for live music events professionally)

    Catharsis

by Anonymous on 3/31/10Webster Hall - New York

Bought my ticket for the "Ego Death 2010" tour a few weeks back, but following a couple of severely crappy days I was looking forward to get my face smashed against the wall of noise. Big Pink and co-headliner A Place to Bury Strangers, two groups I've been into for awhile, definitely live up to their notoriety as two of the noisiest bands out there. A great show, with or without ear plugs.
