Best beer ever, food needs work.

by toolhunter on 5/24/23Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - Bethel

The selection of beers this year was fantastic, best ever. A lot of stouts and dark loggers. The music was enjoyable, not what I prefer but very festive for the occasion. The Jamaican food was a 10 as always, they saved the day. These guys are everywhere, Hudson valley Beer festival, pickle festival and so on. The rest of the food was a 2. I hate to compare but when it was at hunter mountain there were soups and sandwiches, chili, Karl Ehmer wagon, and hamburgers and hot dogs cooked in front of you, hot off the grill placed on a bun and handed to you. It's not that hard, the hot dogs are already cooked. This year was a improvement over last year, hope that next year will be a improvement over this year.

    Great Beer, Underwhelming experience

by Jee on 5/24/23Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - Bethel

I love that Tap NY is closer to where I live but I have to say Bethel does not compare to Hunter Mountain. Tickets get more expensive expensive with more being taken away. One of the best parts of Tap NY was that food was included, now all you get is a corn dog (while supplies last). Vendors were good and live music definitely cool but really disappointing about no food included.

    Great beer ended too soon!

by Joe on 5/23/23Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - Bethel

The beer was awesome and the people great but they shut down the beer before 6pm because of a little rain. Lame! Not at all worth the $$$

    Beer list

by Jay Lew on 5/23/23Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - Bethel

I overall had a great time. I wish there was a list of beers, other than the map with the breweries. I have always wanted a giant list provided where i can check “yes or no” if i liked the beer. It is hard to keep track while drinking. Also, I miss the “included” food, even though that would increase the admission price.

    Great Experience!

by So Cal Beer Guy on 5/26/22Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - Bethel

Great venue, the Bethel Woods center has plenty of room, is very scenic, has plenty of parking, has a couple of nice pavilions for booths, and (maybe most importantly) real bathrooms! I was impressed with the number of breweries, and how NY was represented from The City to Buffalo, and everywhere in between. I appreciate the food offerings, but the quality was meh. Would be nice to have more gourmet food, and a variety of samplings.

    First class event

by Diane on 5/25/22Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - Bethel

Had a wonderful time at Tap New York. This was our first time attending and we were very pleasantly surprised. We went to the event on Sunday. The vendors were spread out so there was not an area that was really congested. Some brewery’s had a little bit of a wait to sample, but it was minimal. The same with the free food vendors and bathrooms. Several areas serving food, all with short wait times. Plenty of room to sit and enjoy your food, cocktails and music. Top notch! Can’t wait until next year!

    Good time

by PB on 5/25/22Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - Bethel

It was a good time. Fun events and great beers. Lots of beer to choose from and an awesome venue. Food that was included should have been better. So many great BBQ places in NY and food was just bland catering options.. Plan to go next year.

    TAP NY 2022 Bethel NY

by CapitalE on 5/24/22Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - Bethel

I have attended TAPNY for over 10 years at Hunter Mtn. NY. This was the first time at Bethel Woods. The beer and vendors were great as usual, but Hunter Mountain was much better as a venue overall. At Hunter about 60% of the event was indoors which is great for hot and cold weather, also they had plenty of indoor bathrooms available not Porta-johns. Hunter had two large full service bars for friends who don't like beer. Bethel had nothing to drink except beer. As for the food situation. Hunter had high quality food distributed by the CIA throughout the event for the entire day with plenty of variety: Burgers, hotdogs, noodles, sandwiches, soups, chili, pizza, shrimp, dumplings, etc. At Bethel , only two food stands were available and the lines were very long. The quality of the food was good, but the quantity was not acceptable at all considering how much the tickets cost. Also the proximity of hotels and other logging was non-existent at Bethel, at hunter we always stayed within walking distance of the event and had a great time with friends before and after the event. At Bethel everyone just went home or we had to travel 10 miles to the next town. Overall I think the cost was way too expensive for what I got, maybe had 20 samples of beer (equal to about a six pack) and two plates of food for $90. the beer is worth about 50 and the food about 15. But even with the high ticket prices, the fact is was outside, and no place to stay was a real bummer. I do not think I will go back if the event is at Bethel next year, its just not worth it to me.
