About

System Of A Down are a heavy metal band from Glendale, California. Formed in 1994, the band’s lineup consists of frontman Serj Tankian, lead guitarist Daron Malakian, bassist Shavo Odadjian and drummer John Dolmayan. System Of A Down released their self-titled debut album in 1998, but their breakout hit came in 2001 when they dropped “Chop Suey!” as the lead single off their sophomore studio set Toxicity, which earned the band their first Grammy nomination and ultimately helped them notch their first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200. Further projects in the quartet’s hard-rocking discography include Steal This Album! (2002) and fellow chart-toppers Mezmerize (2005) and Hypnotize (2005). In 2020, the band unveiled the double A-side “Protect the Land” and “Genocidal Humanoidz” — their first release in 15 years — to raise awareness and more than $600,000 for the Armenia Fund amid the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War. In 2025, they embarked on a series of co-headlining stadium dates with Korn, Avenged Sevenfold and Deftones.

  • Hello, I love you.

by Father on 11/15/25Rating: 5 out of 5

Saw at MetLife, the stadium is horrible and I hated it but System Of A Down was amazing! My only complaint was that it felt too short, and they didn’t sing anything from Steal This Album! Which was a bummer, but I’m just happy I was able to see them live in my lifetime and if they toured again I would absolutely be there!

  • Great show, awful venue

by LastAncient on 9/21/25Rogers Stadium - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

System played an amazing set and sound was great. Deftones set could have been good, but the technicians didnt do a good sound check prior to the show and you could hear them fiddling the entire set. Due to winds the seats weren't open until after detones were to originally start. We get high winds, perhaps they should have thought more about that when building it. Seats are also so super far away (I was in section 105 in the middle row closest to the next section to the stage.) The pit is huge which is nice, but for the price, they should be closer.

  • amazing performance

by Chan on 9/19/25Rogers Stadium - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The performance by Deftones and SOAD was amazing but, the sound system in Roger’s was awful from where I was sitting (wasn’t even far, I was beside the stage but higher up) I wish I could have heard better, I could not make out most of the words but I know all the songs by heart so it wasn’t hard to fill in the blanks and know what was playing. I spent $900 on tickets (not resale price) and $2000 traveling just so I could barely hear my 2 favorite bands. Giving 5 stars because vibes were 10/10 and they sounded great from other areas in the stadium.

  • System of A Down

Okay so the Roger’s Stadium got a lot of flack for it being ‘out in the middle of nowhere’ and how awful leaving the venue was. I would go every single day for the next year if I could see System of a Down. The band was so tight. One of my top concerts ever. Vocals were amazing. Wished I had bought tickets for both nights.

  • Epic Experience

by Brendini on 9/13/25Soldier Field - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I had the privilege and pleasure of attending the System of a Down concert with Avenged Sevenfold on August 31st in Chicago at Soldier Field and it was a beyond epic night. This was my fifth time seeing Avenged Sevenfold so I knew what to expect but was still blown away by their performance and sound and setlist that for the first time in my concert experience included "So Far Away"which made my entire evening complete. The energy and enthusiasm from the performers and the 60,000 plus crowd made for a spectacular unforgettable experience. We had seats in the stands in the 134 section so had a very nice vantage point of the entire stage and jumbo screens. Thankfully the canopy over the lighting tent came down before Avenged took the stage so my view was thus unencumbered. In my opinion, Avenged Sevenfold outdid themselves with tight music and vocals and seemed just to be having the time of their lives performing for the crowd. They completely set a tone of excitement for System of a Down to take the helm. When System of a Down took the stage and began with "Soldier Side", I had goosebumps listening to Daron's voice sing out with crystal clear melody and then when he said "Soldier Side at Soldier Field"it lit the audience on fire. The mood for the night was set and System of a Down delivered a show beyond compare. They simply flowed from one song to the next and their energy and enthusiasm was unbridled and only matched by how amazing they looked and sounded. I was thrilled with how many great songs they chose to perform and just how awesome their showmanship was throughout. This entire night was an epic experience I will cherish forever.

  • Great night

by Frankenserj on 9/13/25Soldier Field - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Soldier Field was easy to get in and out of. The venue staff was excellent. Plenty of merchandise. Avenged Sevenfold, Polyphia and System of a Down killed it.

  • Venue sucked

by Stacy on 9/12/25Rogers Stadium - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

Place was unorganized for getting in, line to get into venue then line to get into actual concert section. Took an hour and a half on transit to get there from parkdale area of Toronto. If people took the go train they had to leave early to catch the train. Bands were great

  • Great show, awful stadium

by Knaeli on 9/11/25Rogers Stadium - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

SOAD was amazing, Deftones less so. The stadium and it's location were really bad. You have to walk over a mile down an airstrip to get to a remote "stadium"that sways as people dance and head bang. All of the seats are over 60 feet in the air so if you're afraid of heights, opt for the expensive pit tickets. The stadium emailed telling everybody to show up early due to wind concerns (valid once we saw the structure) but then nobody was let in for nearly two hours later. Pretty sure the first two bands were prerecorded or played to an empty stadium. Very disappointing! Besides that, there were not nearly enough bathrooms (biffies) and the lines were almost always 15 deep. It's not okay to have more beer/drink tents than bathrooms.

  • Electrifying

by Adrian on 9/11/25Rogers Stadium - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing venue, electrifying music that you can feel in your bones. SOAD performance and music was incredible. Out of 30 + concerts I have attended this was #1. Thank you SOAD! You rock!
