About

Summer: The Donna Summer Musical on Tour

She was a girl from Boston with a voice from heaven, who shot through the stars from gospel choir to dance floor diva. But what the world didn't know was how Donna Summer risked it all to break through barriers, becoming the icon of an era, and the supreme queen for every diva who followed. With a score featuring more than 20 of Summer's classic hits including "Love to Love You, Baby;" "Bad Girls" and "Hot Stuff," this electric experience is a moving tribute to the voice of a generation.

We enjoyed the entire show. We cried, we laughed and danced. The talent on this stage was mind blowing. This musical was one of the best we've seen. We would definitely see it again.

    Not a blast

by Simi4 on 5/18/22Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

The singers were excellent! The story had some confusing parts that either didn't make sense or left unanswered questions. I didn't care for the man who played her husband. I was a real disco queen, and Donna Summer's music was a big part of my life, that included the music that backed up her hits. I felt there wasn't enough bass, and there was no synthesizer sounds, which were very strong in a lot of her songs. The music left me wanting more. I didn't feel as though I had to get up and dance, so that was disappointing.

    Over all, it was fun

by Coop on 5/15/22Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

This was a fun show and I loved learning more about Donna Summer's life. Very interesting and the music kept getting better and better. The only downfall for me is it was an amateur play. I did expect a more professional performance to go with the price of the tickets. But overall, I loved the story and the songs.

    Good, but not great

by RD on 5/15/22Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

At times the plot was hard to follow. Three different Donna Summers in and out, plus some of the dialogue was hard to understand. Liked the singing and dancing.

Great show with great performers but we need to lose the masks since it is silly to wear in 2022
