I was completely impressed with the Rick James story. If you get can through the first 30 minutes which is the needed back drop of Rick’s childhood; it’s uphill from there. I was mesmerized upon the time Stokely appeared as Rick James! Who knew that he had method acting skills. Shame on anyone who did not see this play as excellent! Coming from a Designer/Planner Architect! I would see it again!
I love Stokely and me and my wife goes to see him whenever he's in town. I know he's performing as Rick James and doing the documentary, and we went to see him there as well. He didn't need to bring the play to the soundboard. I just feel that he has so many hit songs and could've spared us with the Rick James skit.
Stokley gave a wonderful performance! This was probably one the best, if not the best concert I've attended. Stokely vocals was flawless and he never took a break. He sang for almost two hours straight. If you have an opportunity to see him live, do it, you won't be disappointed.

From the Audience to Stokely himself, my experience was Excellent! I've never seen Stokely perform and it was amazing to see he still has talent after all these years from Mint Condition. I enjoy his solo album and the old school hits. We even got a sneak peek from the Rick James performances as well as Prince. Stokely is just a whole Vibe!!!! It was my first time at the Soundboard which I'll definitely be back again. Thank you for a Great evening!
Stokley performance was full of Energy. I enjoyed the performance, guitar and drums. His band is excellent.
Not only was this the best concert ever but the Stagg was extremely kind. I needed directions to print my tickets and they did it for me and they also took me right to my seat. They greeted me coming g and leaving the event. Everyone was friendly and I felt very sage here
I would travel the world to see him. Every time he comes to Detroit we make sure to get floor seats because he’s a phenomenal and magnanimous entertainer and we want to see every detail of his performance. We have decided to travel to see him perform in other states, which speaks volumes for his talent. Other than Prince and Chante Moore there’s not another entertainer in the world whom I’ll travel (pay money) to see. In short, his performance was amazing as always ❤️
Stokley put on an amazing show! He only sang 3 mint condition songs, but his performance was so Fire, it didn’t matter. He had the dance moves and amazing energy. Voice was excellent. With all that dancing, he didn’t even sound out of breath. His band was also great! Don’t hesitate to see Stokley when he comes to your town.
Stokley and the VU is a must see! I love the energy and the tie into old school hits from Mint Condition. The band and back up singers were multi talented and were great no matter what they were doing. Stokley has never let me down I will see him every time he comes to Detroit.
