About

Santana in Concert

Few musicians in the history of American popular music inspire the same reverence as Carlos Santana. For more than four decades, he has been one of the music world's most distinctive and exciting guitarists, maintaining his reputation as an artist who continues to revolutionize the form.

Long before listeners knew terms like "fusion" and "world music," Santana was already a master who blended genres and traditions into a sound that was all his own. It's no wonder the young guitarist generated so much excitement as a foremost member of the Bay Area's fertile music community of the late 1960s.

With the release of his debut album Santana and an incendiary set at Woodstock in 1969, Santana established himself as one of the key artists of the era, gaining worldwide fame for his band's combination of Latin, jazz, blues, rock, and R&B. The new star proved his staying power when Santana remained on the Billboard charts and successors Abraxas and Santana III both reached No. 1.

In 1998, Santana was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In addition to racking up career sales of more than 100 million records, he earned another spot in history books when Supernatural — the multiplatinum 1999 album that included such hits as "Smooth" and "Maria Maria" — won nine Grammy Awards, tying the record for most wins by a single project.

In 2014, he published his best-selling memoir, The Universal Tone: Bringing My Story to Light. Among his recent musical endeavors has been Santana IV, a thrilling album that saw him reunite with musicians from his band's early-‘70s lineup; and Power of Peace, a deeply soulful collaboration with The Isley Brothers.

Santana returned with more new music in 2019. In Search of Mona Lisa is an EP featuring three instrumentals inspired by the awe he felt the first time he saw Leonardo da Vinci's painting during a visit to the Louvre. Santana continues to inspire the same reaction at shows by the current incarnation of the band that bears his name. His team of first-tier players includes drummer Cindy Blackman Santana (Lenny Kravitz, Pharoah Sanders), bassist Benny Rietveld (Miles Davis, Sheila E.), keyboardist David K. Mathews (Tower of Power, Etta James), and percussionist Karl Perazzo (Mariah Carey, Tito Puente).

Santana on Tour

Grammy Award-winning, legendary artists Carlos Santana and Earth, Wind & Fire embark on a North American tour. A continuation of 2019's Supernatural Now tour for Santana, the Miraculous Supernatural 2020 Tour marks the first time these two powerhouses share the stage in the U.S. The Live Nation-produced outing kicks off June 19th in San Diego and makes stops in Los Angeles, Dallas, New York, Chicago, Toronto, and more before wrapping August 29th in Tampa.

Santana, and his band (which also features Santana's wife, Cindy Blackman Santana) highlight songs from both his Supernatural and Woodstock eras, as well as newer tracks from his 2019 full-length album Africa Speaks and some incredible surprises. Earth, Wind & Fire is one of music's most celebrated musical forces in history with an iconic music catalog that has been the soundtrack of millions of lives around the world.

In 2019, Santana celebrated the 20th anniversary of his revolutionary, multiple Grammy Award-wining album Supernatural, along with the 50th anniversary of his Woodstock performance. Santana's 1999 album Supernatural featured the back-to-back No. 1 singles "Smooth" and "Maria Maria" and sold over 30 million copies worldwide, topping the charts in over a dozen countries and sweeping the 2000 Grammy Awards.

    Great

by LH on 11/16/23House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

This was my first time attending the show in Las Vegas, it was great! The only thing I would change, everything said show was at 7:00, but apparently, doors open at 7:00, show begins at 8:00.

    Santana Rocks!

by Leafinator on 11/15/23House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Fantastic show and amazing musicians! Definitely put on your Vegas itinerary and worth the $s. If you can purchase a seat then do it as standing room is tough. Still worth it if not but would be worth the extra money if available. If you do get standing room only I recommending stand on one of the stairwells so you can lean against the rail and see better as you will be above the floor heads.

    Good, but could be better

by House of Blues, Santana on 11/14/23House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

The start time on the tickets was listed as 7pm. We assumed that this was either the actual start time for the concert, or at least, the time that the concert hall doors would be opened. So we arrived at 6:30. The doors did not even open till 8pm. Apparently, everyone else thought that the concert started at 7pm, because there was a line with a couple thousand people waiting for the doors to open. My friends and I just waited in a nearby bar for the line to dissipate. The House of Blues hosts concerts frequently, so it is surprising that they could not communicate when the actual start time of the concert was, and when the entry doors would actually be open.

    Fantastic

by Nick on 11/14/23House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Whether playing oldies, new tunes or covers, Carlos Santana is still amazing. His band is a group of world class musicians who clearly have a lot of passion for their craft. All together, they create an amazing show.

    De Cervantes y en persona

by Tony on 11/13/23House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

The best show I have seen in a long time. They came out and played from one song into another nonstop. High energy, sound was great! The venue does not have bad seat in the house. They covered the band history very well. Could have stayed for another 4 hours.

    6 Stars Out of 5

by J.B. on 11/13/23House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

We had never seen Santana in concert so we went to Vegas to catch this very excellent show by Carlos and his band. The venue (House of Blues @ Mandalay Bay) was great...relatively small with great sightlines from the balcony. The performance was unforgettable. Even before the band came out, you knew it was going to be something out of the ordinary as the entire back half of the stage was consumed by three separate percussion set-ups! They opened with a non-stop string of 5-6 major hits. The show went for nearly two hours…longer than the advertised 90 minutes! All of the performers were enthusiastic and engaged with the audience. Carlos has not lost a lick; his fingers flew over the frets with no sign of arthritis. His wife, Cindy, the lead drummer, was amazing! In 55 years of attending live rock performances I have rarely seen such a great performance by a drummer. Never have I seen anyone hit the skins as hard for as long as Cindy! If you are even remotely thinking about seeing Carlos Santana and his band…just do it!

    Icon Light

by AJ on 11/12/23House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Iconic songs early in the set list. Happy to have heard them. Santana played several songs with his back to the audience and standing to the back left of the stage, so the only way to see him was video screen, which was disappointing. Very little chat to the audience. Singers and band were good (3 drummers!). I would say the music was good overall, but not much of a show.

Fantastic show. Musically and spiritually. World class band. Great music. If you can't dance to it, it's probably because you have issues. Santana is a unique, fantastic experience I recommend the dance floor. I could never sit in a,seat. Show up, dance and enjoy. Smile, dance and enjoy. Enjoy the sweet sounds of Carlos and his wonderful band

    A night to remember

by deltad on 11/11/23House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

The concert itself was beyond expectations. Two plus hours of nonstop music to get the body moving and the mind flying! We had a near perfect experience....for those of you with Santana on your bucket list...go sooner than later....only complaint-the long wait in line for venue to open was more difficult for those of us in Carlos' age range! Grateful for the opportunity to see Santana live again in my life.

    Loved the music

by Julie on 11/11/23House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

The music was awesome. Singers were great. Carlos' wife on the drums was amazing. But the show started more than an hour late and then Carlos played several songs with his back to the audience. What was up with that?

    Great music and performance!

by JH on 11/11/23House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

The music and performance was great, but.....I wish I knew Carlos was going to stay in the corner of the stage and not move! He was underneath me and I could not see him. Only when the camera was on him. The seat I was in made it difficult to see the stage because of a small wall in front. Could have been a better experience HOB!

    Never got into the venue.

by JW on 11/11/23House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

We waited over an hour and a half in line, and thirty minutes past show start time still wasn't inside the venue, and we were nowhere towards the end of the line. Was a waste of money. Absolutely the worst crowd control I have ever experienced, especially for a venue known to handle large events.
