RYAN MONTBLEAU IN CONCERT:
Whether he's playing an acoustic solo set or busting out tunes with his backing band, folk crooner Ryan Montbleau consistently delivers intimate, heartfelt performances. His stellar live shows were recognized in 2012 when he was nominated for Best Concert Experience at the MTV Music Awards, and his concerts have only gotten more impressive since then. From the relaxed, emotional groove of "The Boat Song" to the upbeat strut of "75 and Sunny", Montbleau masterfully traverses diverse musical and emotional terrain at his concerts, delivering a dynamic and moving experience fans won't soon forget.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Massachusetts-born Ryan Montbleau received his first guitar at age nine, but didn't begin to play and write songs seriously until his college years at Villanova University. After graduating he got a job at the House of Blues in Boston, and before long he was performing regularly at the venue. His first two albums -- 2002's Begin and 2003's Stages -- were solo outings featuring little more than Montbleau and his guitar. As his fanbase grew he recruited additional players for his live performances, eventually forming the Ray Montbleau Band. The group made their recording debut in 2006 with the album One Fine Color, a robust and powerful collection of songs that featured drums, viola, upright bass, and piano in addition to Montbleau's stellar guitar playing. Since then he has continued to release albums both solo and with the band, and he's earned a reputation as a tireless touring act with upwards of 200 performances a year. In 2012 Montbleau released several songs in collaboration with the duo Tall Heights, including a popular cover of Tracy Chapman's hit single "Fast Car" that remains a staple of his live sets on tour.

Love everything about PCMH! Such an intimate and welcoming space to enjoy my favorites.
Ruan is always an amazing time. I love port city music hall. Plenty of room to dance and the staff is always incredible.
Right place, right time, and the right music man. Excellent!
This guy gets better and better with time, I have seen several shows over the past 6 or so years and this was by far one of the best I've ever seen. The crowd ate up the Ryan Montbleau, great stuff!
One of the best shows I have seen in years! Amazing! We had so much fun. Ryan and the band were just wonderful.
Ryan Montbleau is the real deal. Amazing talent & unbeatable voice. Port City Music Hall such a great place, too.
Something came up and we weren't able to make this show. I've seen Ryan Montbleau play four times and own over nine hours of his music. Absolutely love his music, he's been amazing every time I've seen him . He is very gracious when you meet him in person and somebody you should take advantage of seeing in a small venue. The band has a very bright future.
