About

Russ in Concert

A singular rap force in the mold of Eminem, Russ leaves an indelible mark every time he steps on stage. The jack of all trades does it all: writing, producing, engineering, and mixing all of his own music. So when the spotlight is on, Russ' output is a definitive reflection of his scope as an artist. It takes a commanding presence to captivate arena audiences all by yourself, and Russ does it over bombastic bangers like the aptly titled "Do It Myself," and sensual, slowed-down crooners like "Losin' Control." He's taken his live set to Coachella and now to the North American I See You tour, all the while reflecting on how the world spins around him and his fast-track rise to hip-hop stardom.

Russ Background

Born in New Jersey, but growing up in Atlanta, 25-year-old Russ Vitale (Russ) started writing raps in a notebook at the tender age of seven. He found his teenage calling as a producer and stuck to it—until finally laying down his first bars on the mic when he was 18. Once he did, he couldn't stop. A tireless creator, Russ put out 11 albums in a three-year period from 2011 to 2014 and put them all up on SoundCloud for prompt mass consumption. While releasing everything through his Diemon Crew collective/label at the onset, he signed with Columbia Records in 2017 and quickly put out his major-label debut, ‘There's Really a Wolf.' Peaking at #7 on the Billboard 200 and #3 on both the U.S. rap and R&B charts, the debut soon went platinum. Staying true to form, his sophomore effort, ‘Zoo,' came out in 2018, peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200, and even featured Snoop Dogg & Rick Ross on the track "Last Forever." Russ has established himself as an outspoken personality on Twitter and palpable force in hip-hop.

    Best On Earth

    by Nessa 💜 on 2/3/24

Been twice and will be going to as MANY as I can. Never a dull performance, the vibes, the ENERGY! ✨We waited through Covid to see him at The Greek Theatre 🎭, so sooooooo worth the wait. Then we saw him at Levi’s Stadium. Both Unforgettable experiences with my daughter and my husband. Wish we took our 14 year old because the experience was so lovely. Next time he will be going with us for sure! Thanks Russ and your team! Y’all are amazing! 🫶🏽

His last performance was his best !

by Lynxzhi on 11/23/22Neal S Blaisdell Arena - Honolulu

I arrived at 5:30 to get in line early but there was still a decent amount of people, wasnt too bad. I love Russ loved all the songs he did, but the staff working the concert was not it. They were dumb to not allow us to bring in the water that we. bought from the concession stand. There was at least 4 people that passed out during his show. One was passed out for at least 30-45mins. The EMT who were there was terrible as well. They tried to give someone CPR before they even felt for a pulse. Everyone was dehydrated and hot. Do better Blaisdell. Russ at least stopped the concert and made sure they were okay before he continued. But I did hate that the concert was suppose to start at 8, but he didnt start until 9:30. Wish he had an afterparty, but then again I am being biased because I also attended the Kehlani concert at the Waikiki Shell and that was amazing and she had an afterparty as well. Added she also had 4 openers that everyone basically knew, where Russ only had Bugus. He was okay but honestly the sound engineer working his set was terrible, couldnt even understand what he was saying had the bass in our ears the whole time. The entire seat section was sitting the entire time Bugus was preforming not to mention when he first came out some people were booing probably because they were waiting for Russ for so long.

    Disappointed

    by S. J. on 11/22/22

Went to the show in Honolulu on Nov 19th, 2022. Show was supposed to start at 8pm, opening act didn’t come out until 8:30pm and ended around 8:45pm. Then we had to wait around until 9:30pm for Russ to come out. Bass was extremely over powering and you could barely hear Russ when he would talk or sing. Most of the songs he let the audio& audience sing for him, especially the choruses. He would sing the versus but you could barely hear anything over the audio and bass. Very disappointed as we are big Russ fans and we’re really excited to hear him in person!
