About Remparts de Québec
The city of Québec has a long legacy of hockey excellence, and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Remparts de Québec (Quebec Ramparts) continues the tradition established by the original Remparts and by the Quebec Nordiques of the WHA and NHL. The Remparts are named after the ramparts of Quebec City, which have fortified the provincial capital for centuries. Legendary goaltender Patrick Roy is the head coach and general manager of the Remparts. The Hall of Famer previously led the Remparts from 2005 to 2013, winning the Memorial Cup in 2006. Roy returned to the organization as coach and GM in 2018 after spending three seasons as coach of the Colorado Avalanche.
The history of Remparts de Québec spans two different franchises over the last 50 years. The original Remparts de Québec played at Le Colisée from 1969 to 1985, developing numerous hockey talents including future Hockey Hall of Famers Guy LaFleur and Michel Goulet, while winning the five QMJHL championships (1970, 1971, 1973, 1974 and 1976), and the 1971 Memorial Cup. The current iteration of the Remparts was founded in 1990 as the Beauport Harfangs, and it moved to Quebec in 1997, a year after the NHL's Nordiques moved to Colorado.
The Remparts play at the $370 million Videotron Centre, which opened in 2015 and seats 18,259 for hockey. The world-class facility also hosts the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament, which has given the world an opportunity to see some of the greatest players in NHL history while still in their youth. Remparts de Québec are in the East Division of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where they face the Baie-Comeau Drakkar, Chicoutimi Saguenéens, Rimouski Océanic, Shawinigan Cataractes and the Victoriaville Tigres. Great place and price for a good hockey game . Great seat too.
Great game, great seats, awesome experience and relatively cheap, great value
As visitors from the States, we decided to take in a hockey game while in Quebec City (when in Rome.......). We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The arena is clean, the staff was friendly, and the poutine was everything we dreamed it would be. We used Uber to get back and forth from our hotel. The little kids playing hockey between periods was alone worth the price of admission. So cute and so funny. And the Remparts won!! All in all, a very enjoyable evening.
It was a great game, easy to enjoy the amazing venue, helpful staff, and a fun atmosphere. As someone from the States, I was happy to have my first hockey game in Canada be a Remparts game!
The search for tickets was fast and effective, couldnt ask for more
I will appriciate if you can send me all the corespondance in french. Thank you.
Venue was easy to get into. Ample amount of restrooms. Easily accessible drink and food vendors. Venue is located in heart of French speaking provence so be prepared to not hear much English or see any translations. Staff were bilingual and we're pleasant when asked if they spoke English. Crowd was more reserved than other crowds I've experienced at hockey games. Overall a good experience, would recommend to anyone visiting Quebec City and wanted to try something new. Only caution would be driving into the venue was difficult as traffic was backed up considerably. Prepare for that and leave early to get to venue before a game or show. We cut it real close, barely made it to pick drop.
So we are from Virginia, and maybe once a year splurge on Capitals tickets (about $100 for a good seat). Remparts was the same spectacle and fun and energy and crowd size but for $20 a seat on the glass! Plus the whole game and literally everything was in French and fully Quebec crowd! What a fun living, happy people!! We loved it!:) Thanks Remparts and Quebec City for being so friendly and accessible! It’s a different culture and language right across the border!!
Well organized! Very delicious frites! Lively!Loved the seats . Loved the between-matches fun games, didn’t have the chance to win though, maybe next time!!! Loved the look-a-likes screen time. Definitely gonna attend another match!
Remparts games are a blast. Easy entry into arena, good food choices, clean restrooms, lots of entertainment during the game, and team is really good.
