About

19-year-old artist Rarin is as cool as they come — but not in ways one might expect from a burgeoning rap star. Growing up in New York City, he played classical piano for over eight years before deciding he wanted to take a different route. After a brief foray into EDM, he discovered rap in middle school, then started rapping during his sophomore year in high school. He began recording himself in a makeshift studio in his room and mixing songs on his laptop. Thanks to his unshakeable work ethic, he recorded and released over 40 songs in two years. His versatile and unique style led the online music magazine, Indie Band Guru, to describe him as "combining pop and hip-hop elements, Rarin delivers a stellar mix similar to big names such as Travis Scott, Post Malone and Juice WRLD."

Through his work with computers, video games, and film editing, the prolific artist has grown an organic fanbase within the Fortnite community and watched his notoriety soar. Rarin's first hit, "GTA," was released during the summer of 2020. The song is now a classic in the gaming community and has over 50 million streams on Spotify. Rolling Stone magazine describes it as "…a briskly aspirational single — with distorted bass in all the right places". On the heels of the success of "GTA," Rarin released another popular song called "Yessir!". The music blog, Banger of the Day, touted the single as "1:50 of straight energy. From the fun hook to the clever wordplay and vocally mature cadence, we already can tell Rarin will be a household name in no time". Since its release, "Yessir!" has been streamed 34 million times on Spotify.

In June 2021, Rarin released his debut mixed tape and video, "Toxic Ends." When reviewing the mixed tape, Lyrical Lemonade praised the artist and his potential, "his voice, melody, and tone go far beyond his years. If he can incorporate in-depth stories that can rally fans around his brand, then Rarin should be able to carve out a nice niche for himself in music." With "Toxic Ends," Rarin showed he could provide uptempo bangers and more introspective musings on his life, effortlessly spotlighting his versatility as an artist. But just because he occasionally flexes in his music, that doesn't mean he blends in with the braggadocious mainstream rap currently ruling the Billboard charts. Rarin goes deeper than that, using his music to process his world and as a cathartic exercise to sift through the cobwebs that often prevent us from being our best selves.

Beyond the numbers of Rarin's over 150 million Spotify streams and 1 million monthly listeners is a loyal fan base worldwide. To Rarin, building an emotional connection with his fans is the essential aspect of his blossoming career. When 20-year-old rapper LiL PEEP suffered a fatal drug overdose in November 2017, Rarin realized just how much his music meant to people and how much the music of others meant to him. "Listening to Peep's music was almost like a coping mechanism," Rarin says. "I want to give that to people. Music helps me, and I want to help others."

On April 7th this year Rarin’s fans were rewarded for their support with the release of the single and video "GTA 2". The single is the artist's most successful release to date.
