About

Queen + Adam Lambert on Tour

In 2018, the legend of Queen — the larger-than-life band that's been making grandiose, orchestrally inspired rock songs since 1970 — came to the big screen with Bohemian Rhapsody, a film about the life of original lead singer Freddie Mercury.

Led by Mercury and charged by the pyrotechnic guitars of Brian May, the commanding drums of Roger Taylor, and the rumbling yet melodic basslines of John Deacon, Queen blazed a bright trail through the rock world in the 1970s and '80s. They showcased their stunning vocal harmonies on tracks like the mini-epic "Bohemian Rhapsody" and the peppy "Don't Stop Me Now." They showed off their wide range on sonically disparate tracks like the disco-tinged "Another One Bites the Dust," the sweetly longing "Somebody to Love," and the arena staple "We Will Rock You."

Mercury passed away in 1991, but his legacy loomed large, and Queen's presence on classic rock radio and in pop culture resulted in the band commanding the imaginations of younger listeners. One of those fans was Adam Lambert, a San Diego singer who sang "Bohemian Rhapsody" when he tried out for the eighth season of American Idol.

Powered by his inventive reworkings of songs, towering voice, and overwhelming charisma, Lambert finished second in the show's 2009 balloting. May and Taylor — who appeared on that season's finale and performed with Lambert and eventual winner Kris Allen — were keenly aware of Lambert's range and innovation.

Lambert, May, and Taylor first performed as a unit at the MTV Europe Awards in November 2011, and a year later they played their first concert as Queen + Adam Lambert. Since then, they've toured the world, honoring Mercury's memory while bringing Queen's electrifying catalog to life on a nightly basis. In 2019, Queen + Adam Lambert will embark on the Rhapsody Tour, a 23-date North American tour that, in the words of May, will "rip it apart and get even more ambitious" than their previous jaunts.

    AMAZING and EMOTIONAL

by Sesame on 11/16/23BMO Stadium - Los Angeles

Words cannot describe the legendary Talent and experience of seeing Queen play alive. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to see these awesome people share their talent. Highly recommend!! As for the VIP experiences, I would not even bother. The company who managed the VIP packages did an extremely poor job - unless you purchased the more expensive packages. Funny thing is I wasn't even aware the tickets I purchased were VIP. I was given incorrect instructions by the management company compared to the venue management team. I wound up waiting in line for 3 hours only to be let in at the same time as the General Public. Best part was there were no other VIP guests ahead of the group I was with so there were approximately 40 to 50 people being made to wait that long for no reason. On top of that, once we were finally let in, we were informed that the wristbands we were given allowing floor access we're not recognized by the security crew near the floor.

    Never close enough

by Laurielllen on 11/16/23BMO Stadium - Los Angeles

This was my 19th time seeing Adam Lambert or Queen with AL. I have had front row seats. So this time I opted to save some money and bought tickets facing the stage but they were so far away and there was a tower blocking our view. Of course the sound was amazing and it doesn't get any better than QAL. Lines everywhere. I guess this was BMO's first time dealing with a sold out show. Employees didn't know anything and they didn't allow us on the elevators even though we had two handicapped people in our group. Very disappointed in the venue.

    Beyond Expectations

by Bad Bita on 11/16/23Ball Arena - Denver

In the past, I really only paid attention to Freddie Mercury and didn't realize how fantastic the rest of the band was. Roger Taylor and Brian May are stunning in their versatility and talent. Adam Lambert is another amazing singer with a fantastic vocal range. The band is unbelievably excellent!

    Best concert ever

by Lara on 11/16/23BMO Stadium - Los Angeles

Amazing show from Queen and Adam Lambert. Live performance was excellent. I was on both days and both were amazing. Our seats were on the grandstand and the audience was a b it boring, since almost everyone was sitting and didn’t party much.

    Event Of A Lifetime!

by Pugqueen on 11/16/23BMO Stadium - Los Angeles

I had the Killer Queen VIP dinner/concert experience. I knew this would be the chance of a lifetime. The prizes were exquisite, dinner was delicious, drinks were free, and the emcee Mitch was fantastic. There were also plenty of photos opportunities, Queen relics to look at, and VIP shopping and bathrooms. Sitting up front and listening to Queen will never be forgotten. The technology was killer. I wasn’t going to go because Freddie is “my person “. I also admire Dr. Brian May for his music, intelligence, and animal rights work. Watching his face while he plays is mesmerizing. Roger still rocks as well. His drumming is fascinating. I still felt Freddie’s presence during this concert. However , Adam did impress me and added his own flair and sassiness to the show! This was an event of a lifetime!

Get me into stadium as quick as going to a ball game

by Wish it was easy on 11/15/23BMO Stadium - Los Angeles

Ridiculous lines and queues to enter stadium. What a cluster. Will not go back to this venue or another Live Nation event. 10 times worse than boarding for an international flight during rush hour on a major holiday. The stadium entry really harshed my mellow.

    Exuberant, enchanting, beautiful show

by Kim on 11/15/23BMO Stadium - Los Angeles

I have seen many Queen concerts in the last 48 years with Freddie Mercury as the best showman ever! But I’ve seen Paul Rodgers, as front man, George Michael, as front man but Adam Lambert stands out by far! First time going to BMO Stadium it was phenomenal great light-show and sound was amazing! Can’t wait to go back to BMO Stadium!

Concert itself was amazing. Getting into the floor section of BMO was a nightmare. Recommend getting there very early if you have floor seats.

An Awesome Night At The Opera

by DifrntDrmr on 11/15/23BMO Stadium - Los Angeles

Freddie Mercury's presence was front and center from the time the lights went down. Coming on stage to a pre-recorded version of the song "Machines"from The Works album, Mercury's voice was the first one heard by the audience. After joining the recording the band seamlessly segued into its album mate, "Radio Ga Ga."This was followed by "Hammer to Fall,"which is also from the same album. In all, five tracks were played from The Works, an album that had only reached 23 on the American Charts and never achieved platinum status in the States. "Who Wants to Live Forever,""Show Must Go On,” and "I Want It All,"were also featured in the set despite being from albums that did not sell well in the United States. To hear the crowd react to these great songs from this difficult period in the band’s history was a tremendous payoff for a fan who stuck by them when it was not popular to do so. I will admit that the thought of "where were you then"did bubble to the surface occasionally. Since Queen is one of the innovators of the rock concert as a spectacle, it is not surprising that their staging of this run through history was cutting edge. The video screens were particularly impressive, producing images that were so lifelike that I sometimes wondered if they were actual set pieces. The pyro was used to punctuate the songs, not overwhelm them. One of the best effects of the night was the simplest. During the song "Is This the World We Created..?"a video version of a tree symbolically lost its leaves as the song progressed. This was accompanied by paper leaves falling onto the audience. In an attention to detail, the leaves were not simply brown rectangles of paper but were cut into the shape of leaves. The band's place as one of the earliest innovators of music videos proved useful in keeping Freddie Mercury front and center in what Adam Lambert described as a "celebration"of the music he made with Queen. The images from these videos played during "It's a Kind of Magic"and "Bohemian Rhapsody."Old concert footage was also used to allow Brian May the ‘magic' of a duet with his old singer at the end of "Love of My Life"and to include the musical call and response with the audience that is an internal part of a Queen show. As my family left after Saturday's show, my sister asked if I felt that it was still a Queen concert with only two remaining original members. My response was that the band answered the question itself by tagging the project “Queen+Adam Lambert."It is a different band, but one that could not exist without the first. As a stand-in for Mercury, Lambert makes it clear the debt he owes to the band's original singer, not only for the spot he occupies on stage but for his development as a performer in his own right. While much was done to keep Mercury's flame alive, it did seem strange to me that original bassist John Deacon is never mentioned. If not for his appearance in the Bohemian Rhapsody video and the cartoon version of him during "It’s a Kind of Magic!” it would seem that he did not exist at all. Perhaps the famously reclusive bassist wants it that way, but it seems to diminish his massive contributions to the band. Along the same lines, I longed for a picture of David Bowie to be flashed on stage after "Under Pressure."It would have made for a nice tribute to an integral part of the original recording. How strange it must be for Taylor to sing that song every night knowing that the other two voices have been extinguished. As I left BMO stadium on Sunday I could not help but feel a little sadness at the thought that this could be the last time I would see my favorite band perform. This was the last date of the North American tour, but I hear a venue is opening up in Vegas after U2 completes their residency. The possibilities are endless for a band like Queen performing in a technologically advanced space like the Sphere. After a triumphant weekend by a band that was written off by the public long ago, anything seems possible. Read the entire review at change.hopp.to/Queen

    Absolutely Amazing!

by KLow on 11/15/23Chase Center - SAN FRANCISCO

Absolutely fantastic concert. Queen was in excellent form and Adam Lambert was outstanding. He has the perfect combination of showmanship, sass, attitude, and fun along with his unwaveringly, phenomenal voice. This was a real rock concert along with a great show. Would definitely love to see them again!

    Fantastic Show

by Emma K on 11/15/23BMO Stadium - Los Angeles

The venue was a little hard to get to and they need better signage but the show was worth the effort! Adam sounded great and the band was on point! The stage production was also one of the best I've ever seen with the way they mixed graphics and effects.

    queen was great...venue?

by liz on 11/15/23BMO Stadium - Los Angeles

Queen with Adam well of course was awesome. Five stars for the band, 3 stars for the venue, and if you had floor seats. A very long line/que to get in if you had floor seats, which we did...just to get in to get your wrist bands. From there only one entrance to get down to your floor seats. If you had to leave to go to the restroom, or a beverage you could not get back the way you came, close to your seats, you had to go all the way back to the back (which I'm sure those people loved being blocked most of the time). From there you waited in another line just to get back down to your floor seat. Not sure the reasoning behind it as those who had lines of people coming down the steps during the concert. Again, Queen great as always, venue needs to figure out a better way of allowing people to their seats...

The concert was amazing! I just wish the side screens were on. Me and my sister were sitting on the side and we weren’t able to see the Freddie hologram from our seats.

    BMO Stadium Sucks!

by Queen Fan on 11/15/23BMO Stadium - Los Angeles

The show was good and Adam Lambert gave his all -- as always. The problem was the venue. It took a full hour to walk through the gates past security in a line that never ended. Very exhausting! And then the stadium was not conducive for a live show -- very bad sight lines And being seated on the floor meant no clear view of the stage because of all the people in front of you. Don't go to BMO for a concert -- stick to real stadiums and theaters!
