About

PSYCROPTIC IN CONCERT:

Tasmanian tech death metal outfit Psycroptic has been lauded for the exactitude and virtuosity of their recordings, but there's nothing like seeing these rockers from Down Under serve up their surgically precise sound in concert. At their adrenaline-filled live shows Psycroptic takes the stage beneath their trippy logo and other cryptic insignia, whipping ticket buyers into a frenzy with razor-sharp performances of their intricate and heavy songs. With their shirts off and their long hair flying, frontman Jason Peppiatt and bassist Cameron Grant are the perfect visual embodiment of the band's powerful sound. Meanwhile guitarist Joe Haley and drummer Dave Haley serve up mind-blowing riffs and beats, bringing a focused intensity to the table that underscores just how insanely complex the band's songs are. Ticket buyers looking for an all-out metal spectacle and a master class in first-rate musicianship will enjoy both any time Psycroptic tears it up in concert.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Psycroptic was formed in Hobart, Tasmania in 1999 by former members of the band Disseminate. They made their debut the following year, using funds from the Tasmanian Council of the Arts to record and release their first LP The Isle of Enchantment. In 2003 they followed up with their sophomore album The Scepter of the Ancients, which they supported on their first full Australian tour with American metal outfit Incantation. After a 2004 European tour alongside Swedish bands Dismember and Anata, Psycroptic returned to the studio to record their third album, 2006's Symbols of Failure. Since then they've toured tirelessly and released several acclaimed records, including a self-titled 2015 LP that landed on the Australian charts.
