Peter Frampton on Tour
With the Peter Frampton Finale: The Farewell Tour, an iconic figure in rock takes the stage for one last round in 2019. Commencing June 18 in Tulsa and ending October 12 in San Francisco, the tour follows the singer and guitarist's announcement of his retirement due to his battle with inclusion body myositis (IBM), a progressive muscle disorder.
It makes for a poignant occasion for any fan whose life has been touched by Frampton's songs in the five decades since the singer and guitarist first earned renown as the teenage frontman for Humble Pie and became one of the biggest sensations of the 1970s.
The evening will be a celebration first and foremost. The music legend always has been warm and engaging in signature songs like "Baby, I Love Your Way" and "Do You Feel Like We Do," and he wouldn't have it any other way. For the new tour, Frampton performs alongside his longtime bandmates Rob Arthur (keys, guitar, vocals), Steve Mackey (bass), Adam Lester (guitar), and Dan Wojciechowski (drums).
Peter Frampton Background
From co-founding one of rock's first supergroups while still a teenager to releasing the most famous live album of all time, Peter Frampton has had many milestones in a career that began in the London borough of Bromley in the early ‘60s. Inspired by heroes like Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran, the young guitarist began his musical pursuits as an adolescent alongside David Bowie, an older classmate who became his lifelong friend.
By the time he was 16, Frampton was having his first hits with The Herd. When only 18, he co-founded Humble Pie with Steve Marriott of Small Faces and Spooky Tooth's Greg Ridley. The group's mix of hard rock and progressive styles made them a pioneer of heavy metal.
After going solo in 1971, Frampton toured tirelessly in the U.S. His efforts paid off in 1976, when Frampton Comes Alive! became a phenomenon. Topping the Billboard charts for 10 weeks, it sold eight million copies and spawned three smashes in "Baby, I Love Your Way," "Show Me the Way," and "Do You Feel Like We Do."
Later career highlights included playing guitar on David Bowie's Glass Spider tour, winning a Grammy in 2007 for Best Pop Instrumental Album, and touring with a who's who of other six-string heroes as Frampton's Guitar Circus in 2013. Released in 2016, Acoustic Classics featured new performances of many of his best-known songs, including a few favorites from Frampton Comes Alive!

It was raining and cold in an outside arena, but worth any discomfort. Peter Frampton was fabulous. I'd see him again in a minute, rain or not.
This concert was truly the best! Loved the way Frampton spoke with the audience; he was just welcoming & humorous! Loved the concert!
One of the greatest guitarists ever!! I’ve seen Peter Frampton 3 times in the past 5 years and can’t wait to see him again
You would think the rain, the cold, and the immobility of the musicians would take away from the Peter Frampton Never Say Never show. Quite the contrary. The evening was all about the music, and what an evening it was. Peter Frampton places the guitar with a passion and joy all it's own. He doesn't need to jump around. The guitar jumps for him. It was a pleasant change to just watch a talented combo practice their craft and play live so perfectly. Thank you, Peter Frampton. Concerts really should be all about the music.
Peter Frampton may not be able to walk and jump around, but his voice is still solid as is his very underrated guitar playing. I appreciated the banter and the history between songs, as well as the montage played on the large screen during the beautifully sad "Lines on my Face". Thankfully, the rain let up as soon as we were seated. 44 years of Greek shows, and this was the first time I was rained on. There was only one downside to this concert experience, and it was entirely on the venue. The security entry was incredibly slow, so much so that lines were still very long (100+ people each line) when the first song started. A major reason being there was no signage telling people how to prepare for the security check, i.e., 1. Get your ticket ready to scan 2. Take your metals and electronics out of your pockets and purses, ready to give to the staff for visual inspection before walking through the metal detector. So, they wasted time while people did those two steps only after they arrived at the front of the line, for security check in. Everybody took 2-3X longer to process because they were unprepared. Maybe people should know, sure, but enough of them didn't (the majority). A little signage with advance directions goes a *long* way, Greek Theater management. Please give it a try. Also, it wouldn't hurt to tell people via signage that they can check in their umbrellas - no need to sneak them in your pants, etc.
Greek Theatre great place my favorite venue for a out door concert. Really enjoy the picnic areas outside before concert. Just watch out for rainy days.
Even with the rain & cold weather (yes it was in the low 40's), Peter and the band produced a exciting, great concert at the Greek Theater. Really enjoyed the repartee from Peter.
The music dragged on with songs from old albums that no one had heard of? Frampton concert from October 2019 had a better selection of songs and the concert moved along much smoother...
I thought the show was fantastic. I could tell that Peter was really excited to be there. Even though he could not stand while playing he was still able to play extremely well. He played many of my favorite songs along with some ones I had not heard. All of the songs were enjoyable. I also think the musicians with Peter were excellent.
We chose to not use our 360.00 tickets. It was raining all day making it unsafe to drive. It was 45 degrees at 8pm. The concert should've been postponed. I am sure many didn't use their tickets as well. I definitely have learned my lesson the hard way. I would like for my tickets to be transferred to another event. Yeah right.
Looked forward to this show, knowing it will probably be the last time Frampton comes to town. However, due to the poor weather, we could not attend. I know neither Frampton or The Greek Theater could control the weather. I don’t blame either one. It was our choice not to attend. I’m curious as to how full the theater was. I’d love to see Peter come through again with an indoor show.
The concert outdoors, it was raining, it was cold and Frampton was AMAZING. We brought our 19 year old grand daughter who loves it. She was surprised at how many songs she knew. Loved it!
FINALLY got to see Frampton Live! He still has an amazing voice, such a sweet man as well. But unfortunately, it sprinkled the first 10 minutes we were there and it was freezing cold, seats were wet the whole time, oy! Still glad i went!
Peter sounds great; still has the same beautiful and engaging personality. I love his playfulness when he plays the voice box, and one plays the guitar like Peter. I love him!
Almost 50 years in the making, seeing Frampton was on the bucket list. Check. Awesome show, he did not disappoint in any respect. Highly recommend. If you've ever want to see him, you better take advantage of this tour. Even the rain and cold didn't put a damper on the night,
The weather was very COLD but the concert was FANTASTIC. I've seen Frampton before, he puts on a GREAT show and all of his greatest hits.
It was a rainy day concert and we really thought the attendance was gonna be 50% or less. It ended up being about 95% or more and Frampton put on one hell of a show playing his music other people's music and just telling stories about the good old days when he started in rock'n'roll. All in all it was a great great concert!!!!
Music was Great! Venue not so much. Could have rescheduled but money rules. Losey food choices unless you want to get drunk. Parking cost almost as much as the ticket.
You always wonder if the performer can still bring it. Peter still puts on a great show with quality vocals and guitar. You can't miss with this show.
Peter Frampton was awesome. His voice Sounds great!!!! His prowess on the guitar is simply amazing to hear and to watch. The tribute to Chris Cornell was also beyond great. Go see the show!!!!
