Peppa Pig on Tour

Since debuting in 2004, Peppa Pig has become the most famous snout in children's entertainment this side of Miss Piggy. For many toddlers, the British cartoon series is their first binge-watching obsession, thanks to its simple yet colorful animation, bite-sized, five-minute storylines (sample episode title: "Muddy Puddles" — and yes, it's about nothing more than jumping in muddy puddles), and straightforward dialogue that even a three-year-old can easily follow. And for parents, the sound of precocious Peppa, her tantrum-prone little brother George, their bumbling Daddy, and mild-mannered Mommy cackling together at the end of each episode has become so omnipresent, it's as if a whole ‘nother family of relatives has moved into the house. Like most successful children's franchises, Peppa Pig is a merchandising machine, and has spawned offshoot books, films, and even its own amusement park in the U.K. And in recent years, Peppa has stepped off the little screen and onto the big stage in Peppa Pig's Surprise! This live theatrical spectacular re-creates Peppa's world with the help of large life-sized puppets on wheels, costumed characters, and a cheerful headset-sporting host named Daisy who guides you through this pastoral fantasyland. You'll see Peppa partaking in her favorite activities — like going on road trips with her family, meeting with the beloved Mr. Potato, and enjoying a bubble bath after another glorious day spent splashing in the mud puddles. But Peppa Pig's Surprise! differs from the TV show in a significant way: It's a musical experience, with Daisy leading Peppa and friends through a series of boisterous song-and-dance numbers. Oh, and there's another big difference between Peppa Pig's Surprise! and its cartoon counterpart: You can't just watch it slumped in your seat like you would at home during a marathon TV session. This is a highly interactive experience, with Daisy encouraging the kids in the crowd to sing, dance, and play along. Just pretend the theater floor below your feet is a muddy puddle and get hopping.

My 3 y/o loved this show

    by A. P. on 3/21/24

The characters aren't people in costume. They are large life sized puppets, rolled around on wheels, pushed by the actors wearing black. Non the less, my daughter paid them no mind. She loved watching the show. The intermission gave us enough time to go to the bathroom and get popcorn for the second half and take pics without feeling rushed. I will absolutely do this again with her.

    Not impressed

by Mamabear on 1/8/24Capital One Hall - Tysons

We were very disappointed with the Peppa Pig production. For the cost of the ticket, I really expected a little more than someone just pushing a stuffed pig around the stage.

    Loved it!

    by Sophie’s mom on 1/6/24

Went with my 2.5 yr old and she loved it! Just like the tv episodes, it was easy and not overwhelming! Songs and people with the puppets were totally fine. It was great. We went to Disney on ice and she said she preferred Peppa. She lovesssss her spinning flashlight the most

    Not the greatest

by Kelly M on 12/20/23Capital One Hall - Tysons

It wasn’t as great as I was expecting, considering how expensive tickets were. A 20 min intermission is a little much for kids. Which also made the show less than an hour, as it was described to be an entire 60 minutes. Wasn’t worth it. We went to the Daniel Tiger show in October and they did a phenomenal job.

    Fine, not great

by JJDC on 12/20/23Capital One Hall - Tysons

The 20 minute intermission during a 60 minute show was truly unnecessary. It killed the momentum. And we had to entertain small children cooped up in seats for 20 minutes! C'mon.

    Very Disappointed

    by Tiffany on 12/18/23

We were excited to bring our 4 year old to see Peppa pig. I have to say, we've been to many many children's shows and this was by far the worst one I've ever experienced. Characters were rolled around on dollies by people behind them. Only characters that were in actual costumes were Mommy and Daddy pig. NOT EVEN PEPPA PIG! The show was an hour long and had a 20 minute break for an hour show?! With little kids, how do they even think this is ok to make kids wait for that long. It's only 1 hour! Costumes were very poorly constructed and some even had noticeable stains on them. Animation and overall story line was also extremely disappointing.

Not worth the time or money

by Jon on 12/16/23F.M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-Barre

Very poorly put together. Very cheap production. People push puppets around the stage on wheels and only two characters are in costume for a short time. My 4yr old asked questions about the people being on stage and actually fell asleep toward the end.

    Peppa pig sjow

by Aunt Shell on 12/16/23F.M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-Barre

My 1.75 year old niece loved it so I give the show a great rating. Wish it was a little less expensive so we could have sat closer.

    Great for the Grandkids

by smurf on 12/13/23Tilles Center Concert Hall - Brookville

My two grandchildren, ages 4 and 2, loved it! The Tilles Center is a nice place for a show like this because it was easy for everyone to see. The young lady who was the lead was terrific, and I'll bet she was tired after the show from essentially doing aerobics for an hour and a half!
