About

Parker McCollum won't be pigeonholed, and that's by design -- the Texas native is all about paving his own road. He spent his summers working on a cattle ranch for his blue-collar grandfather, who also introduced him to country music. Hearing George Strait's "Amarillo by Morning" for the first time, McCollum was struck. "That is still, to this day, one of my favorite songs, favorite melodies of all time," he told Billboard in 2020. By 13, McCollum began writing songs; by 16, he began playing clubs. For inspiration, he turned to Texas troubadours like Townes Van Zandt, Steve Earle, Guy Clark, and James McMurtry, lyrical writers who built rich worlds and characters in the confines of a single song. After graduating from high school, McCollum headed to Austin, Texas, the self-proclaimed "Music Capital of the World." A stint in college didn't last -- McCollum spent more time in class writing songs than paying attention. Dropping out, he made a promise to his father: One day, I'll sign a major record deal.

McCollum worked the red dirt circuit for years, playing empty bars that slowly began filling up. He released his first full-length album, The Limestone Kid, on his own label in 2015. McCollum wrote nine of the 11 tracks himself. The Austin Chronicle said, "It's too early to declare The Limestone Kid debut of the year, but it's already one to beat." His follow-up, the self-released Probably Wrong: Session One, was McCollum's first to hit the Billboard charts. Then, after five years of full-time touring, McCollum made good on his promise, signing with Universal Music Group.

"Pretty Heart," his first single with UMG, went straight to the top of the country charts. It appears on his album, Gold Chain Cowboy, the title reflecting McCollum's desire for success -- a man that's earned enough to wear a gold chain -- with the down-home appeal of living as a simple cowboy, just like his grandfather. Chances are, Parker McCollum will have a little of both. After winning New Male Artist of the Year at the 2022 American Country Music Awards, an exciting future awaits.

    Amazing

by Robertson on 4/16/24Touchdown Alley at McLane Stadium - Waco

Parker was definitely the best . The venue was great but they ran out of drinks before He even came on. How do you not know how many thousand people wil be thirsty have a better plan. Would definitely go back one of the reasons is the tickets were actually not over priced and they had plenty to purchase without sitting at a computer in a que waiting for hours.

    Parker is fire!!!

by Krissy D on 4/16/24Touchdown Alley at McLane Stadium - Waco

Texans love live outdoor music. If you don’t, you likely implanted from another state. The weather was perfect for this outdoor event and the line up was fantastic. Catie Offerman got the show started and had the crowd craving more country music. She also took time to sign autographs at the merch table after her set. Such a sweet woman!! Enter Corey Kent. Holy moly this dude can sang (yes, I spelled that with an A)!! I hadn’t had a lot of exposure to Corey’s music prior to this event but he immediately landed in my favorites. Now for the headliner…the one and only Parker McCollum. Good ole South Texas boy with a fun personality, humble demeanor, and voice of an Angel. I can listen to him ALL. DAY. LONG. This is my 2nd PM show…the first was in 112 degree Texas heat in 2022 where my spray tan ran down my legs as I belted out the lyrics right along with him. Parker brings it! He interacts with his fans, doesn’t allow any mishaps in the crowd, and keeps the entire audience engaged. Going to a Parker concert is much like getting a tattoo…one just isn’t enough and the minute you walk out the door you’re ready for another!!

    Great concert

by Live concerts on 4/16/24Touchdown Alley at McLane Stadium - Waco

We attend many concerts but I will definitely look into what beer they serve before I buy tickets. I say that because the drink choices suck so that messed up my night. But concert was awesome.

by Jay on 4/16/24Touchdown Alley at McLane Stadium - Waco

I paid for tickets that was seats in the stadium in Waco, tx. when I drove 8 hours there turned out it wasn't in the stadium it was in a open stage and no seats. You got to be anywhere besides in front of the stage unless you had pit passes. The information was misleading.

Parker was Great, VIP was not

by WhatVIP on 4/16/24Touchdown Alley at McLane Stadium - Waco

Parker Mccollum put on a great show! No issues there. I paid for 2 VIP tickets to have an "exclusive bar and restroom." Issue #1 : Go to VIP area and show my TicketMaster tickets and the guys says, "Sorry I think those are General Admission tickets."Had to find my purchase receipt and show that I did indeed pay for VIP. Issue #2 : Bars ran out of regular beer after the 1st performer. Beer choices were already horrible and over priced. $10.50 for a 12oz Busch Light is criminal. Not enough alcohol for 12k people. And why was the beer vendor out of Georgia? Issue #3 : VIP potty were 3 port a John's. Lines were longer for those than general admission bathrooms. Paid way more for VIP tickets to have a lackluster VIP experience. Feel I should be refunded the difference between GA and a VIP tickets but I know that'll never happen. Feel I was scammed by TicketMaster and Emporium Presents.

    Great concert - bad parking

by Sonja on 4/16/24Touchdown Alley at McLane Stadium - Waco

Blankets were not allowed, but chairs were. Doesn't make sense. Blankets should have been listed on the prohibited list. I bought the parking pass, but there was no parking available even though we arrived fairly early. I had to park in the grass on a dark street and then walk to the stadium. Only sell parking passes for the number of vehicles the lots will hold.
