BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Paloma Faith was born in London in 1981 to an English mother and a Spanish father. She studied dance and theater as a child, and got her start as a singer performing at burlesque cabaret clubs while pursuing an MA at London’s Central Saint Martins College. After passing up an offer to join Amy Winehouse’s band, she launched her solo career in 2009 with the hit debut single “Stone Cold Sober”. Her full-length debut album Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful followed later that year, peaking at No. 9 on the UK albums chart and earning praise from critics and fans for its stellar songwriting and broad range of material. Her next two albums – 2012’s Fall to Grace and 2014’s A Perfect Contradiction – both landed at No. 2 in the UK, and produced an impressive string of hit singles including “Picking up the Pieces” and “Only Love Can Hurt Like This”. A talented performer known for her energy and theatricality, Paloma Faith continues to wow concertgoers every time she takes the stage.

    Paloma Lovely

by Amps210 on 11/29/12Mercury Lounge - New York

She is an entertainer in every sense of the word. Stunning vocals backed by a gorgeous band of ladies and gents and she holds an entire room's attention in New York... That's saying something. Her set was condensed from 60 minutes down to 45 minutes (due to playing an early show and having to be off stage in time for the next bands), but she made every minute count and gave us all a laugh in between songs with her quick wit. Dressed to perfection she gave the crowd her music and as we all danced, sang along, and listened it was quite clear she was in a room full of excited fans. I'd see her again and recommend others to do the same! Go, see her live, you'll have a fantastic time!!

Great Show Despite The Venue Forcing a Shortened S

by canadiantransplant on 11/29/12Mercury Lounge - New York

As with both of her NYC shows recently (the other being Joe's Pub on September 11th) Ms. Faith delivered a wonderful show. The only issue this time around was that the venue only allowed her to play for 45 minutes so she had to cut out some of her hysyerically witty banter with the audience. It was really great to be be able to see her in a small space (I believe capacity was around 250 people) as she's clearly on the brink of superstardom in the US and will be selling out Radio City before we know it!

paloma Faith, Beautiful girl, amazing voice

by UnstableBoy on 11/29/12Mercury Lounge - New York

First the cons, they cut the show down to 45 minutes and we were packed in there like cattle. but it was well worth it. her voice is amazing, her band is very talented. she is funny (when she had time to talk a bit) and it feels like she really enjoys performing for people. I would definitely go see her again if I had the chance although I would probably pick a different venue.
