Overcoats Tickets

Overcoats are made up of Hana Elion and JJ Mitchell, two best friends who layer their emotional honesty over distinctive harmonies and arrangements. The duo, known for their soaring vocals, describe their sound as "a sort of Chet Faker meets Simon & Garfunkel."

Elion and Mitchell met while attending Wesleyan University, where they developed both their friendship and their music. The connection between the two has been described as "near-telepathic," and when asked about the origins of their name, Elion said in an interview with Fashionista that "the name of the band represents a layer of armor to protect ourselves behind something kind of genderless and vague." Overcoats are also known for a cover of Hozier's "Cherry Wine," and cite The Chicks, Amy Winehouse and Indigo Girls as influences.

Overcoats' first self-titled EP was released in 2015, and they've since released multiple singles and three full-length albums. The indie pop duo drew critical praise with the release of their 2017 debut album, Young, which both Billboard and NPR listed as one of the best albums of that year. Their 2023 album Winner was produced by two-time Grammy winner Daniel Tashian (Kacey Musgraves' Golden Hour).
