Ohio State Department of Dance Tickets

I was absolutely blown away by the high-quality dancing and story-telling throughout the performances by the students and choreographers at the most recent Ohio State department of dance spring concert. The appreciation that these students and choreographers have for their craft is evident in the emotions and abilities seen on stage. This theater is in-the-round so the access of the audience to the performers is unmatched and I felt so enmeshed in the pieces. The broad range of topics addressed throughout the pieces was indicative of the diversity of the student group as well as the choreographers. I can not recommend future performances enough as a way to support the students, faculty, and university and as a way to celebrate various forms of dance.

Dancers seemed so engaged in their movements and thoughts, not "performing". Videos on backdrop gave visual and intellectual depth to the experience. Spare stage and costuming allowed focus on content and dance. Vibrating seats were odd, and did not enhance experience for me. "Talk back"with audience after performance expanded my understanding.

Just everything about this was perfect - the venue, 13 separate amazing dances, the amount of time per performance, and the overall feeling of joy we were experiencing during and after the show.
