About Ohio State Buckeyes at Ohio Stadium
Columbus, Ohio, is home to one of the most legendary college football programs of all time, whose success is still going strong after 130 years. The Ohio State Buckeyes play out of Ohio Stadium, which opened in 1922 and currently seats 102,780. They are coached by Ryan Day, who, in his first year leading Ohio State in 2019, oversaw a 13-1 season and a College Football Playoff berth.
History of Ohio State Buckeyes Football
The Ohio State University first fielded a football team in 1890, and the team became a charter member of the Ohio Athletic Conference in 1902 before joining the Big Ten in 1912. The Buckeyes won their first national championship in 1942 under coach Paul Brown, and they've won seven more, most recently in 2014 under Urban Meyer. Six players have won seven Heisman Trophies for the Buckeyes, including Les Horvath in 1944, Vic Janowicz in 1950, Howard "Hopalong" Cassady in 1955, Eddie George in 1995, Troy Smith in 2006, and the only two-time recipient, Archie Griffin, in 1974 and 1975. Ohio State has won 40 conference titles, including three while with the OAC, as well as eight divisional titles. The Buckeyes have also won eight Rose Bowl games, most recently after the 2018 season against Washington.
While Ohio State has long-running rivalries against Illinois and Penn State, their rivalry against Michigan is one of the most heated feuds in all of sports, dating back to 1897. The Ohio/Michigan rivalry has always been intense, but it rose to another level between 1969 and 1978, as Michigan coach Bo Schembechler and Ohio State coach Woody Hayes engaged in "The Ten Year War" as both teams competed for Big Ten and national championships. In 2019, the Buckeyes went 12-0 behind the play of defensive end Chase Young, cornerback Jeff Okudah, and quarterback Justin Fields, before defeating Wisconsin 34-21 in the Big Ten Championship Game, and losing 29-23 to Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl as part of the College Football Playoff semifinals.
Nice family event, first time on a Spring game. Stadium was a little greed on not let us enter with bottles of water (I had a 2 yr and 4 yr kids). The really frustrating part is Ticket Master charging a lot of money for any ticket or events bought through them.
Basically, I never made it to the game. Traffic was ridiculous. I was sitting in traffic an hour and 15 minutes before I decided to go home. The cops didn’t know how to direct traffic, they were routing me into a big circle and every which way I turned the road was closed or the parking lot was full. I never got anywhere. A waste of time and money.
The thrill and energy of being in “The Shoe” never disappoints! We are so lucky that OSU shares this preview at such a below reasonable cost. The entire experience was fun and interesting and diverse. I would recommend to anyone at any age.

Great game. First time with the digital, but i still miss the paper tickets. I keep them along with my Buckeyes stuff. I would pay extra for digital and paper copies.
Great to see lots of families with small children at the Spring Game. The reasonable price of tickets & free parking allows OSU the opportunity to host the next generation of fans in a family friendly environment. These kids are potentially future OSU students and buckeye fans that will ultimately ensure the tradition of excellence continues.

The event was great. Beautiful day, awesome venue, terrific staff and vendors. Seats were fantastic and we got to see Archie Griffin run in a touchdown. Great day.

Photo showing view of field was nowhere near actual seats. Ended up behind two pillars in the top row of B deck. I would have never purchased those seats if I had known where they were. Total waste of money, couldn't see anything.
Buckeye Nation more than did their part to win this game! The crowd was loud and lively throughout the whole game! Unfortunately it didn’t show on the scoreboard but the atmosphere and stadium was excellent
Ohio State needs to improve the speakers in Ohio Stadium B Deck Seating. You cannot hear any announcements! Frustrating!
Idk what theyre asking here. Was Ohio Stadium awesome? Sure. Was the event i went to cool, it was until they lost so now i wish i had just sold the tickets and never gone. Be more specific
I was concerned about using my online tickets because my phone was so old that the wallet apps wouldn’t allow the tickets too be saved to the phone, but check in went without a hitch using the Ticketmaster app directly. Of course, the game in the “Shoe” was awesome
This was my first BIG college football game and what better way to spend it than with the #2 team in the country. They certainly know how to get the crowd going. It was so much fun. We went to the Varsity Club before the game which was a blast. We also made our way over to the FOX NOON show outside the stadium where they really got the crowd going. I'd recommend going to see a game at the SHOE. The half time show of the band performing was also a huge highlight!
The game was a blast, and the stadium is fantastic. Staff and concessions were both fine. Our seats had a good view but not made for larger fans as the folks next to us were taking up quite a bit of our space.
Nothing better than a live game in the stadium for a Buckeye fan. From the minute the band marches on to the field and the last football thrown there no excitement like it. OH-IO!!!
