About Ohio State Buckeyes at Ohio Stadium
Columbus, Ohio, is home to one of the most legendary college football programs of all time, whose success is still going strong after 130 years. The Ohio State Buckeyes play out of Ohio Stadium, which opened in 1922 and currently seats 102,780. They are coached by Ryan Day, who, in his first year leading Ohio State in 2019, oversaw a 13-1 season and a College Football Playoff berth.
History of Ohio State Buckeyes Football
The Ohio State University first fielded a football team in 1890, and the team became a charter member of the Ohio Athletic Conference in 1902 before joining the Big Ten in 1912. The Buckeyes won their first national championship in 1942 under coach Paul Brown, and they've won seven more, most recently in 2014 under Urban Meyer. Six players have won seven Heisman Trophies for the Buckeyes, including Les Horvath in 1944, Vic Janowicz in 1950, Howard "Hopalong" Cassady in 1955, Eddie George in 1995, Troy Smith in 2006, and the only two-time recipient, Archie Griffin, in 1974 and 1975. Ohio State has won 40 conference titles, including three while with the OAC, as well as eight divisional titles. The Buckeyes have also won eight Rose Bowl games, most recently after the 2018 season against Washington.
While Ohio State has long-running rivalries against Illinois and Penn State, their rivalry against Michigan is one of the most heated feuds in all of sports, dating back to 1897. The Ohio/Michigan rivalry has always been intense, but it rose to another level between 1969 and 1978, as Michigan coach Bo Schembechler and Ohio State coach Woody Hayes engaged in "The Ten Year War" as both teams competed for Big Ten and national championships. In 2019, the Buckeyes went 12-0 behind the play of defensive end Chase Young, cornerback Jeff Okudah, and quarterback Justin Fields, before defeating Wisconsin 34-21 in the Big Ten Championship Game, and losing 29-23 to Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl as part of the College Football Playoff semifinals.

This worked out because all parties were on the right path. Ticketmaster had the tickets they were on sale for a great price and then they did their part to make sure I got the tickets and I knew what to expect going to an after it was a remarkable time I’ve gone every year with my kids and my nephews, I have 20 years of experience doing this. I’ve always bought my tickets through Ticketmaster. I have no complaints. A very enjoyable time for the whole family.!! If there was a negative too many emails. But they were just making sure I had everything.
We had a great time. I wish they have more events like this. It was affordable, I wish more events were affordable like this was.
Had a fabulous time at OSU. The women's hockey game on Friday was fantastic, and before the football game I got to meet the Sousaphone player who dotted the i. Wasn't expecting a great game, as it was a huge mismatch. Left just before half time, to get a jump on the drive to Detroit to see the Lions on Sunday.
I bought tickets on GameTime and the view the app showed there was no obstruction in view. When we got there there was were columns blocking our vision! GameTime would not help with anything…not even contact the seller. Won’t be the Redding from GameTime again!
I had an awesome time! Thank you for all of the updates and information!!
There were 2 pillars in front of our seats. That should have been disclosed.
O-H -I- O...Go Bucks!! Great game, awesome experience at the stadium. Team was on fire ...37-3 blowout. Weather was great. Marching band rocked, high fives at player walk before game.
The Shoe is an amazing venue for a game. The stadium was electric and the fans are awesome. The band is elite and put on a great show in celebration of Veteran's Day. Can't wait to go back.
Great seats on row 1 of C deck. Great game too! Buckeyes dominate.
Easy to purchase and download tickets. Easy to enter the game. And another great victory!!
From the Varsity to the tailgate to the Skull session it was amazing. Great appreciation of our Armed Forces. The Best Damn Band in the land -- incredible. Go Buckeyes! Good seats for the game. I can't wait to go back ! Ticket Master mastered the experience with updates on scheduling etc! First Class!
I haven’t been to an Ohio State Buckeyes football game in over 20 years and my wife has never been to a Bucks game. I surprised my wife with tickets to this game, and she was really excited when she found out where we were going. We stopped at the Bookstore(Barnes & Noble) to buy a few things. Then we hung out with the patrons of High Street for some “adult” beverages!! After that we tailgated for a few hours before heading to the stadium. We got into the stadium and got to watch the band perform pregame, which was FANTASTIC!! The game itself was GREAT and my wife is still talking about how fun the game was. Overall an experience that we will never forget….
Though we put our tickets in our wallet, the barcode would not come up. Without wifi on campus, it made it difficult to access. We missed kickoff and first part of the game. Not happy!! The game itself was great! Both Ticketmaster and OSU have improvements to make.
Ease of tickets and carrying it with me in my digital wallet.
When I purchased the tickets through TicketMaster I chose two seats by their location in the stadium and made the purchase. When I got to my seats at the stadium neither of them had a cushion or a seat back. The seats next to me did have a cushion and back. We sat on cold metal bleacher style seats. There was no indication in the purchasing process that there were different seat types available.
It was just an exciting time to watch the Ohio State buckeyes beat Penn State I love every minute of it and actually to tell you this was my first time actually going to Ohio State game which was in September the 9th but ever since then every game home or away that I have been to it has been a very exciting experience and I loved every minute of it. Getting my tickets to every single game I have been to so far has been very very easy I have some more games to go to but thank you Ticketmaster you made my day 🏈🏈🏈🏈🙂🙂🙂🙂❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍
Always a great experience. A must see for football fans. Stadium is epic, ushers are friendly lots of things to see and do. The Best Damn Band in the Land is certainly a "don't miss". Love my Buckeyes
My son and I went to his first game against Maryland. The mens restrooms were a nightmare at halftime so we walked out the gate for him to use a portable potty, not knowing we wouldn't be allowed to reenter the stadium. We were told it's posted on the gates but we sure didn't see it, nor were we told as we walked out and there were numerous staff standing there. Very bad for business for a true Buckeyes fan! I've read the stadium rules on multiple websites also and have found nowhere that says you can't reenter ugh!
