Nova Akemi was born and raised in New York City. Brooklyn more specifically, to a mother a talented and aspiring painter and poet, and a father, an at the time medical student.

Coming from a christian-caribbean household, music has always been a huge part of what makes him who he is. Having done choir and piano as a child till the age of 14, then going on and then by 2017 beginning to develop his own sound. Having took a hiatus from music between 2018 to 2020 only doing a surprise roll out of his first mixtape and dropping small singles on soundcloud in between time as he continued to experiment with music.

Jumping back into the music in 2020 in a newer much different world and creative landscape, he sums himself and his work up today as “an absolutely mindblowing mix of influences spanning from, edm more specifically Drum and Bass, combined with the melodies and emotion of post punk, and the cadences and rhyme schemes of both past and modern day rap.”
