About The Regina Pats

The oldest continuously operating team in junior hockey, the Regina Pats have called Saskatchewan's capital home since 1917, winning four Memorial Cups (1925, 1928, 1930, and 1974), the 1974 and 1980 WHL titles, and countless other championships in over the last 100 years. The Pats' name stems from the Victorian era, as they were named in honor of Princess Patricia of Connaught, the granddaughter of Queen Victoria (Princess Patricia father, Prince Arthur, was Governor General of Canada at the time). To this day, the Pats wear the emblem of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI), which was founded during the First World War. During the Pats' 1927-28 season they were known as the Regina Monarchs after merging with another team, but except for that one year (in which they won the Memorial Cup) they continue to honour Patricia of Connaught.

Many notable players have suited up for the Pats over the past century. Glenn "Chico" Resch and Clark Gillies, who both contributed to the New York Islanders' success in the early 1980s, played for the Pats in the early '70s. Hockey Hall of Famer Al MacInnis played two games for the Pats before spending the majority of his junior career in the OHL, while legendary Michigan head coach Red Berenson played parts of three seasons with the Pats before embarking on a long career as an NHL player and a pro and college coach. Three Pats players have won the CHL Player of the Year trophy, including goalie Ed Staniowski as the first recipient in 1975, future NHL Draft first overall pick Doug Wickenheiser in 1980, and Jordan Eberle in 2010.

The Pats play at the recently renovated Brandt Centre, which hosted Skate Canada 2017 and the 2018 Memorial Cup, and seats 6,484 for hockey. They play in the East Division of the Western Hockey League's Eastern Conference, against such rivals as the Brandon Wheat Kings, Moose Jaw Warriors, Prince Albert Raiders, Saskatoon Blades, and Swift Current Broncos.

    Pats

    by Hoff57 on 12/5/23Brandt Centre - Regina

Had not been to a game in years , in the year 2000’s had family seasons tickets . Before that went to a ton of games as child and young adult . Absolutely no chance I would pay average of $40 a ticket to watch this product, way over priced. Bedard was a great drawing card , but now you can tell by the attendance that it is just OK hockey . Lucky I was gifted a Ticket master gift card and used it to purchase a tickets . Not only Pats games but all entertainment I my eyes , has been unaffordable for a regular guy or impossible for a family to attend on a regular basis !!!!!!!!!!!!

    Too expensive

Way too expensive for junior hockey, no wonder there was maybe 1000 people there.

    Terrible Food Price/Value

by CasualFan on 11/4/23Brandt Centre - Regina

The game, the production.. good! They do a good job trying to keep kids engaged. Where I’m struggling is the price of a the ticket with an arena with.. practically no atmosphere. In addition, the concession prices are similar to events such CFL Games yet the food is absolutely atrocious. Old hot dogs and stale popcorn for $18 is… I mean those are mega stadium prices (and usually offer SOME sort of quality). The food prices are similar to professional sporting events, but the food quality is similar to going to your local arena cantine. Highly recommend eating BEFORE coming to the game. Something has to change…

    Regina Pats

    by Vbray2035 on 4/7/23Brandt Centre - Regina

Was a good night at the game. Good hockey with mediocre officiating. Only downside was they gave up a 2 goal lead in the third period and lost in overtime.

    Oldest Junior Hockey Team

by Fergy on 3/28/23Brandt Centre - Regina

Always a pleasure watching the Pats. However it is time for a new arena! The mezzanine area is terrible because there is insufficient space to move around. The oldest a junior Hockey Team any where ought not to be looking like it.

    Basically unaffordable

by Chris M on 2/28/23Brandt Centre - Regina

The concession prices are out of hand. It’s insanity. For example, popcorn for $11 with butter is pure nonsense. Even the movie theatres don’t charge that much. If you want people to buy concessions make the prices affordable and they’ll buy more. It’s just economics.
