After spending several year as a stand up comedian in New York City Smoove moved to Los Angeles and landed a recurring role on MTV's "The Lyricist Lounge Show," as well as featured guest spots on "The Chris Rock Show" and "Premium Blend."   This led to his first big feature film, where he narrated and starred in the cult classic "Pootie Tang," reuniting with Rock.  Smoove subsequently following this up with a co-starring role opposite Adam Sandler in "Mr. Deeds."
After a season as a cast member on the sketch comedy program "Cedric the Entertainer Presents," Smoove moved back to New York City where he landed a writing position on NBC's "Saturday Night Live."  He later was a recipient of the 2007 Writers Guild award for "Best Comedy/Variety Series" for his work on the show.

I think the seating is not appropriate for people with long legs. The show was great I really came to laugh and that’s what I did

JB smoove is the best combination of physical comedy and dialogue. He really brings the audience into the performance and gives it his all. We were crying laughing so hard.

    JB is an amazing performer!

    by J. P. on 11/13/22Warner Theatre - Washington

JB Smoove is hilarious! Just as silly in person as he is on the tv shows. Maybe even more so. Definitely one of the top 5 comedy shows I’ve ever seen which says a lot because I’ve been to a bunch! At one point I was laughing so hard that I couldn’t breathe, told myself that I needed to stop laughing so I could catch my breath, but I couldn’t!

JB Smoove had me laughing from beginning to end. He had me dying laughing about real life situations. He’s brilliant, I’ve been following his career since 1996, and I won’t stop. I can’t wait until he comes back to the DMV. #KeepLaughing

J.B. Smoove had me in uncontrollable tears.

by Kirk on 11/13/22Warner Theatre - Washington

That was my first time seeing J.B. smoove and the man didn’t disappoint. From start to finish, he was hilarious. You ever laugh for like a min straight. Jokes coming back 2 back. I enjoy seeing him on TV so I kinda knew what to expect but “ Funny” is an understatement. The Warner theater obviously didn’t disappoint. Always comforting to be in that venue.
