Reunited (and it feels so good, ) the band's six original members hit the road in 2014 for a much-anticipated tour, treating fans to their finely-tailored threads and hits like "Candy Girl" and "Cool It Down."
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Formed in Boston in 1978, New Edition hit the big time with their 1983 debut album Candy Girl, landing three singles on the charts and becoming an overnight sensation with their boyish charm and carefully crafted image. Their self-titled 1984 sophomore album was an even bigger hit, topping the R&B chart on the strength of era classics like "Cool It Now" and "Mr. Telephone Man." The band's success in the mid-'80s was so considerable that it launched Bobby Brown to solo career stardom, with several other members finding success as spinoff group Bell Biv DeVoe in the '90s. Over the years New Edition has released seven studio albums, weathering hiatuses and reunions, but have rarely been joined by Brown in concert, making his presence on their 2014 tour all the more special.
