No Bad Seats
Xcel Energy Center - Saint Paul
It was easy enough to buy tickets to the Frozen Faceoff, however, since one ticket got you into both games that day, the first row seats of all sections were unavailable by the time I was able to buy my tickets. Also, it would have been nice to see which nets the teams would shoot twice on. We assumed UND being the higher seed would shoot twice on the same side that the Wild do and bought our tickets accordingly. But, that wasn't the case for this game. Additionally, there were very few vendors open in the club level. Overall, there's not a bad seat in the Xcel and I'm glad I went, but more information would be nice for next time!

Good Hockey, needs better following
Xcel Energy Center - Saint Paul
The hockey was good. Being able to leave the arena between games is a vast improvement over the NCAA tournament method. The Xcel has very limited food choices. Some teams bring very few fans. That really limits the atmosphere for this tournament.

A great time
Xcel Energy Center - Saint Paul
It’s always fun to go and watch hockey so that was great and easy to access my tickets quickly. I think the tickets for games should be sold separately though, because there was very little fans for the second game due to fans buying the weekend package.

Frozen Faceoff
Xcel Energy Center - Saint Paul
I had a very small purse but it was not small enough so grandson had to take it to my car! It was freezing cold! I could have checked it for 10.00. The prices for everything was way out of line for a family! So glad our Herb Brooks Hockey Center in St. Cloud is not that that expensive! We won the frozen four cup! So that helped the pain of the cost for everything!

Fun Tournament
Xcel Energy Center - Saint Paul
The Frozen Faceoff is a fun tournament. The only thing I would prefer is to separate the two semifinal games so people could go out for dinner or just a break. UND sponsored a gathering at McGovern's and it started at 4:00 - the same time as the first semifinal game, so we had to choose between the two. Had the first game been at let's say 1:00, we could have done both. An added bonus would have been the restaurants near the Xcel Center would have had lots of additional business.

So So
Xcel Energy Center - Saint Paul
The games themselves were fine. However the Venue lacked!! No sit down restaurants served food, only drinks. Concessions lines were LONG!!! People waited a long time just to get 3 slices of pizza in one order. The slices all came at different times and the help was inefficient. Many of the concessions were closed!!

Great hockey, great atmosphere, now please more food options
Xcel Energy Center - Saint Paul
The hockey was great, and probably the best college hockey tournament at the X since the old WCHA. Great atmosphere for all 4 games, but especially the championship. Two items of concern. #1- please offer more food options! It's basically burgers, pizza, or chinese food. If you would open just one of the novelty food booths, that would be great. #2- I'd look at the game times on Saturday. It would be nice if both games started just a little bit earlier. Since the championship game went double OT, things got REALLY late on Saturday night for families or anyone who traveled.

Fantastic
Xcel Energy Center - Saint Paul
The hockey was great, the fans came out to support the schools. The service from the Xcel center staff went above what they needed to do. Was talking to one server that I forgot my chapstick and she was kind enough to put some carmax on a napkin for us to use. What a superstar.

Great hockey, venue disappointing
Xcel Energy Center - Saint Paul
The hockey was great - no surprise there - it’s the best conference in college hockey afterall. The venue, well-known to local fans as a first class facility, was very disappointing with just a few low quality overpriced concessions available. Fans expect an upgrade from the college hockey arenas, especially given the ticket price. The NCHC should seriously consider moving this event to an arena that wants to have fans to have a great experience.
