    Moulin Rouge

by artteacher on 11/4/19Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

Wonderful event ! Cast and set TOP notch ! Amazing how the Al Hirschfeld Theatre was transformed into a magical place ! The staff was welcoming however once the performance started the ushers did not monitor the audience quite enough. A group directly in front of us were " hooting and hollering" with arms in air fist pumping like they were at arena concert. They silenced their mobile devices but checked them frequently, texting and the bright screens were distracting. Near the end of the performance they stood , videoing the stage and had to be told by several guests nearby to sit down. I have attended many shows in other Jujamcyn theaters as well as other Broadway theaters and never had this type of negative experience. It was more than disappointing. I left feeling the $350.00 I spent for the tickets should have included being able to enjoy the performance to the fullest.

    Stunning on Stage!

by nikimak on 11/3/19Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

Outstanding production with eye-catching costumes and lighting, clever set, fun mash-ups and absolutely fantastic talent! Karen Olivo is stunning and shines as Satine, and Aaron Tveit owns the stage very well with her. Danny Burstein was entertaining and the whole cast kept us entertained throughout the show. By intermission, I already felt like i needed to see it again!

Ever go to Le Jardin, Studio 54

by R. on 11/3/19Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

Well--relive that experience, at least for the first act. Entirely fun and brilliant conception. That brilliance loses its effect, though, in the second act; tragedy does not lend itself to irony. However, the end is rescued by the 10 minute epilogue...if that is what it is.

    Jukebox Musical with Flash

by C. on 11/3/19Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

This is, yes, another jukebox musical — with flash! The songs are by composers as Elton John, and others, with a book written around the songs. Very similar to Jersey Boys being a show about Frankie Valley written around music by Frankie Valley, or Cher being a show of Cher’s music written around a book about Cher! There is no original music written for this show. STILL, it’s slick, with costumes over the top and some wonderful choreography. Not a must see show but a good show. Seven out of ten on my Broadway meter!

Mixed to Positive, but Wholeheartedly Recommended

by wellssb on 11/3/19Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

If you want to spend an enjoyable evening at the theater, then Moulin Rouge is a must see. It is a rousing spectacle with lots to promote it. Make sure to come early to see the performers strut around the stage much as they did at the Moulin Rouge way back then. For our taste the songs in first act was terrific, while the second was uneven. That said, it is the best musical we have seen since Hamilton and An American in Paris first came to Broadway several years ago, and we heartily recommend it.

    Creative Broadway is Back!

by RonK on 11/3/19Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

Moulin Rouge is the most creative Broadway show we’ve experienced since Hamilton. The show’s dialog is comprised of recited and sung lyrics as well as complete songs from the 80’s to present. The show is high energy with explosive dance routines and a collection of strong, vibrant voices. Yet, nothing detracts from the poignant and difficult story. We highly recommend Moulin Rouge.

    Awesome reinterpretation!

by Amy W on 11/3/19Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

Same basic storyline but with the twist of modern music. Excellent production, dancing, sets, and actors. The entire theater is transformed so you feel like you are in the show!

Fantastic is probably not doing this show justice.

by mhailw on 10/31/19Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

Took my two nieces from the UK to New York to see this production and we were not at all disappointed, from arriving in the theatre and seeing the set, it was an absolute feast for the eyes and ears, we were all so disappointed when it ended. Everything about this production is class, the cast, all the cast, the set and the music we cannot explain in words how good this was. If you miss it in New York I'm sure (or as a Brit, hopeful) it will be just as good in London in 2021, do not miss it.

Go Ahead... Succumb to the Consumption

by Rick on 10/31/19Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

The production value was extraordinary, an extravaganza! That stated, the actors lacked charisma and any story uncompellingly told. Don't waste your money!

    For a Good Time, Go!

by Tsihan on 10/31/19Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

Moulin Rouge! was a fun show! If you liked the movie, you will love the show. The whole idea of using contemporary music is taken up to 11 in the musical. You will here everything from the Police to Adele to Lady Gaga. The staging is great, the dancing is top notch and the singing was fantastic.

    Great Show

by Musical lover on 10/30/19Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

I didn't know beforehand what this show was about. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of popular music included in the play. The acting and singing were both great. The scenery was fantastic as well. A very enjoyable show that kept up the energy throughout. Not for young children because of the mature themes, but everyone else will enjoy.

    OMG! Just spectacular!

by Patti on 10/30/19Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

The set, the costumes, the dancing, the theater, one does not know where to look! Fabulous is an understatement. Olivo and Tveit sing their hearts out. I don't know how they do this 8 times a week. The songs are the playlist of my life. I can't say enough about this show. Go!

    Spectacular

by K. on 10/29/19Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

It was, indeed, a spectacular spectacular. The set was gorgeous. The staging, spot on. The cast, all are so wonderfully talented. I was surprised by Aaron Tveit; I knew he could sing but this music was very well suited to him. And last but not least: Karen Oliva. That VOICE! She was brilliant, in all the various meanings of that adjective.

    What a blast!

by Jodsgnr1 on 10/29/19Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

Moulin Rouge exceeded my expectations from the moment we sat down. It seemed like the whole theater was in character! The chandeliers and set were perfect. I’m a fan of the movie and was a bit skeptical about how the play was going to “translate” but I LOVED the changes to the storyline and music. The choreography and costumes were amazing! If you’re looking for a show that will put a huge smile on your face then this one is for you!

Great afternoon of dance music and performances

by Charm City Boy on 10/29/19Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

The dancing choreographed by Sonya is incredible. Karen Olivio powerhouse vocals in first act and great acting in second act. Aaron takes over the vocals in second act. Final number of opening act and especially second act opener "Bad Romance" are superb. We took a group with us for the show and all loved the experience
