Minnesota Wild History
The state of Minnesota was without an NHL franchise for seven years after the 1993 departure of the North Stars. That void was filled when the city of Saint Paul landed the Wild as an expansion team in 2000. Hall of Famer Jacques Lemaire took over as the franchise's first head coach.
The Wild advanced to the Western Conference Final in 2002-2003 behind the play of right wing Marián Gáborík, and has gone on to post a winning record in almost every season since. Starting with the 2012-2013 season, Minnesota reached the postseason six consecutive times.
Center Mikko Koivu spent his entire NHL career with the Wild and is the franchise's all-time leader in games played, points and assists. In 2022, the Wild retired Koivu's jersey, the first player in franchise history to have a jersey retired. Overall, the Wild has qualified for the Playoffs 13 times in its history.

Was our first Minnesota Wild game. We all loved it and had a great time.
Come on. It's the Minnesota wild! Win or lose it is always an awesome wxperience for a fan.
Make sure to look closely at the row on the ticket you are purchasing. I ended up getting standing room only and not realizing it. You will pay a lot of money to miss all the good parts of the game because when people in front of you stand it blocks the view completely. Do not pay for SRO tickets.
Overall a great experience, and the Wild won. The most frustrating thing was a row of strobe lights on the catwalks that flashed very frequently but inconsistently throughout the game. When people around us asked the ushers about it, and when I texted with customer service, we were told it was 'professional photography'. I don't know if it happens at every game, but it negatively impacted our experience.
Went to the philly vs wild game on the 29th. First game for me but the best so far. We sat in section 110 row 9. Some of the best seats you could get! Definitely worth the money!!
Great ending to a great game! Love being a Wild fan!
The atmosphere was incredible. A fantastic getaway for any Wild Fan. Of course a W helps but either way it'll be a blast!
We got there late due to well…playing hockey😆…our boys first pro game…they were overwhelmed by the venue and the energy!! We Recognized that there is a level of athleticism you can only appreciate in person! These players delivered a thrilling performance! Wow!!
We loved the club level seats to the MN Wild game. Ticketmaster was super easy to choose which event and seats we wanted. They also made it super easy to sell previously bought tickets. I’m still currently waiting for the refund in my account. They did say 7-10 after the event though.
Incredible experience. The Flower’s first game in the net with generic tan pads and black helmet like he had just stepped off the bus (he had). Exciting 3-2 win in OT! Pulled Fleury with 2.5 minutes left and Kaprizov tied it with a minute left. Spurgeon with the game winner in OT. It was raucous!
The game couldn't have been more fun! I brought my 8 year old son and he had the time of his life. We sat in the upper section and still could see everything perfectly - not a bad seat in the house! Snacks and service were great, too. AND the Wild won on overtime. :)
Wild game exceeded all expectations. Energy in the building is second to none. Upper level seats are fantastic viewing for a hockey game. Would recommend going 100x over! Buy some tickets today!
Had a great time! Good seats in level 1 about half-way up from the glass. Gave us a great view of two goals. Digital entry worked well. Xcel Energy Center is a great venue! Easy to get to, easy parking, clean facility, great concessions!
Wild games are always great but kicked up a notch when it’s against the Blackhawks. They need to change the goal scoring song though, “Shout” just isn’t that exciting like past songs. I’d even like to see “Rock and Roll part 2” back but anything else would be better.
My grandson was so excited to be going to a NHL game. He just started playing hockey last year. He’s 11. We live in the Des Moines, Ia area and go to the Iowa Wild hockey games often. He couldn’t even eat dinner before the game because he was so worked about seeing his first NFL game. We had a great time and it was great that the Wild won.
$16 for a mixed drink in a tiny cup! Who can seriously justify a 1500% markup?
Such a fun night with the family. Each family member got to see their favorite Wild player score! Thanks!
First experience for hockey here. What a joy. The behind the scenes organization was great, lines moved quickly, and no problems whatsoever. Koive's retirement number event was very well done. Hope to do this again, we had a great time! Go Wild!
It took us an hour, literally, to enter/shop/checkout for MN Wild merch. It was packed, you had to shuffle every square inch of the store to see anything and the line system and waiting times were ridiculous. I felt badly for the individuals that shopped ahead of time and still had to wait in line forever to pick up their already purchased items. The game itself was very fun(despite the final score😭). Go wild! 💓🐻
The Minnesota wild and the Xcel Energy Center put on a great event. The crowd is so energized! The food is good and fun, cheese curds, great popcorn, mini donuts and of course cold refreshments! We parked in the Lawson Commons and walked the skyway. It was a very cold night so it was great to not have to walk outside.
