    In my opinion

by Johnson on 3/1/20Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

This was my first time here at the Broadway Playhouse and sadly I was not impressed. Especially, considering I drove from Ohio to attend this play. 1. The ushers overly shadowed your every move. And hurried individuals out after the play. 2. The play itself was very, very disappointing. No where in the description does it say it will be a one man show. Their were no other actors/comedians. As you can imagine this was quite daunting especially for a hour and fifteen minutes plus. No to mention his continual sexual gestures to “get his point across”. If I would have known it would be a one man show, with 2 or 3 videos of Dr. Gray and not necessarily appropriate for a teen I would have taken a different route.

    Happily Surprised

by Rebecca on 2/26/20Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

I didn’t know what to expect, but I was surprised to find out it was a one man show. Ultimately I felt like I was watching a comedian on a Netflix special. The show was funny and the actor was very skilled and animated; he had a lot of stage presence. Women in the bathroom after the show were complaining that they didn’t bring out a woman actress to get the woman’s perspective. I thought that was ridiculous. The show wasn’t bashing either gender. I thought it was intelligent.

Really enjoyed this one man show! Right on about all the differences! Presented in a fun, entertaining monologue! No bad seat in the house! Be sure to get your parking ticket validated at the theatre! Water Tower parking for $38 was reduced to $14!!

    feb 14

by dee on 2/17/20Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

We loved the small venue, and that all seats had a good view. It was a good value and the monologue was well done. The issues were: the seats are too close together and we had large men on each side of us so we were very uncomfortable. In addition, not just 1 or 4 people came in late but SEVERAL!!! Even up to an hour!! You MUST have a policy that after 15 mins you need to wait for intermission! People have become too self centered and disrespectful of how their actions affect others!

    Pretty darn funny

by Letznick on 3/8/17Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

I attended with my partner and we both enjoyed very much. One thing that would have made it better was if the usher had dealt with the very annoying heckler. But, we laughed and had fun.

Men are from Mars Women are from Venus was GREAT!

by 2Johnsons on 3/8/17Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

Hilarious, would recommend it to everyone, so relatable, eye opening on communication, and knowing the difference of how men and women actually think and function so differently. The guy that performed it all by himself was extremely full of energy the whole time which made it very enjoyable to watch.

    Interrupted event

by Anonymous on 3/8/17Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

The venue was excellent, nice smaller theater that provided a voucher to go towards Water Tower Place parking. This one man show was entertaining but unfortunately we had a row of women who had too many afternoon cocktails and kept shouting out comments to the actor. Midway through the show they pull out a bag of popcorn and start passing it around...crunching the bag each time. Finally the usher came over for this. This continued for the entire two hours. As we were walking out everyone around us were annoyed with how rude these women were.

Defending the caveman want to be

by 9877543221 on 3/7/17Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

The play was a one man show, a lot of physical humor, badly needed a woman in the play to assist. Best part of play was two video clips from Dr Gray.

    Pretty Pathetic

by Anonymous on 2/26/17Broadway Playhouse - Chicago

I rarely write reviews of theater - but felt compelled in case. This was marginally entertaining at best. Based on a book written 25 years ago, it panders to worn-out stereotypes about men and women and their relationship. (Men are "providers" and don't want to come home after a long day's work and listen to their wives complain. Seriously?? Who thinks that way in 2017??) I found it's overly generalized characterization of both genders to be demeaning and inaccurate. There were some laughable lines, but they had little to do with the relationship between men and women. I could have left at intermission - in fact, the rest of our row did!
