Matt Rife has exploded as one of the fastest growing comedians through his viral content and remarkable engagement on TikTok, where he has amassed over 13 million followers, and more than 2 billion views globally. As one of the most buzzed about comedians in the business, Rife has been selling-out comedy clubs and theaters across the country and is gearing up to embark on his biggest tour to-date with Live Nation, the Matt Rife: ProbleMATTic World Tour, kicking off on July 20th.
Rife brings forth his refreshingly genuine presence along with elevated material that is quick witted and vulnerable. From a small town near Columbus Ohio, Matt started performing at the age of fifteen then moved out to Los Angeles two years later where he began his career in Hollywood.
In addition to stand-up, he made his television debut on MTV's Wild 'N Out as the youngest cast member in history for four seasons before moving on to other MTV properties, such as hosting the reboot of TRL and appearing on The Challenge. Other credits include Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Fresh Off The Boat, BET's North Of The 10, and NBC's comedy competition show Bring The Funny.
In 2021, Rife self-produced and distributed through YouTube his first one-hour comedy special, "Only Fans". This past April, the comedian bet on himself again and self-released his highly anticipated second stand-up special, "Matthew Steven Rife" on YouTube. The special was taped in Austin, TX and is dedicated to his biggest role model, his grandfather Steven who had recently passed. He'll be taping his third stand-up special this fall in Washington, DC.
If you love inappropriate humor then Matt Rife is the perfect comedian to go see and have some good laughs. The energy was great. The show began on time. Both opening acts were funny and talented. Matt’s jokes are hilarious and his way of delivering them can be even funnier. Highly recommend seeing the show.
Super fun, funny and definitely would go to another show when he’s closer to me, hopefully he can do a show in sac !!soon so i don’t have to travel all the way to oakland :))
I really enjoyed Matt Rifes show, I thunk he’s great and hilarious. The comedians who opened the show were good too. He did some crowd work and it was good but I think he stayed way too long with the same people. I would have preferred to see him doing more stand up during the time he spent with 2 people form the audience. Besides that, he was funny, authentic and I can wait to see his next show.
It was the best comedy show. The first two comedians where funny but Matt was excellent
We loved the venue. The Oakland Paramount Theater is beautiful. As for Matt’s show, we were disappointed he wasn’t so funny in person. The laughs came far between and that wasn’t just us feeling that. Everyone near us wasn’t laughing that much either. The process to get into the 10pm show was terrible. A sea of people surrounding the outside not knowing where we should stand in line and plus they didn’t let us until after 10pm. We arrived an hour before showtime but others there before us. Basically we a waited a long time to get in. The 2 opening acts were okay. Matt seems like a gracious dude towards his audience which was nice. However we wish it was a funnier set given the all the effort and costs it takes for an evening out. I’m still a fan though but will likely stick to what he posts online.
What a great show from Matt and friends. Seriously one of the best comedy shows I’ve ever seen. Highly recommend!!
Matt had 2 fellas open for him. The 1st was ok. The 2nd, a guy from San Jose, was very good & I would see him again!! Matt was VERY good!! The venue was much larger than the ones I’ve seen him at on YouTube, so he wasn’t able to banter with the audience much, but he was funny the bit that he did! There were a few rowdy people that had to be escorted out, but he handled it well!! I brought a friend who had never seen Matt before & she enjoyed it as well!!

I very much enjoyed his show. I had been waiting almost a year to see him and it did not disappoint.
He is much better is small reels on Instagram. He cannot carry an entire hour live. Dissapointed.
